Help! 172 seat logo only comes in blue now??

Hi. A friend of mine had a slight bump in his 2003 172 over Xmas and the air bag went off. He was meant to pick it up, fixed, the other day but was told it wasnt ready because its at an upholstry place getting the seat logo re-done as the new ones only come in blue. Is this true? I thouht a car manufacturer has to make spares for a car for 10 years so they should have the seat covers with the correct colour stitching on?

Apparently there unstitching the hole of panel with the old logo on and re stitching it into the new seat.

I think the garage have either odered the wrong seat cover or are trying to repair the old one myself?? It just seems a bit too fishy for me.

Hi, I know it should be silver. Thats why they`re cutting up the new seat to put the old logo back in.

The garage are saying that renault only sell 172 seat covers now with blue stitching not silver any more is this true or bollards?

Ive never seen a clio with blue seat stitching so I think there talking crap. Are they?

nah, there was never blue stitching.

Mk1 172s had coloured renault sport logo and blue leather. Then the silver that you get on a 182. Slight difference witht he 182 is that the dots in the alcantara has a silver fabric behind. There will be no issue with getting one thats for sure.

Its a relative thats had the bump in the 172 and he seems to believe anything his told. I told him they were talking bollards but no one ever believes me.

lol what aload of rubbish renault would never do that, i fitted a seat cover to a 182 about 6 months ago and it was completely the same as the one i took off.

Apparently Renault wolverhampton have been in contact with the main Renault France company and they only come with blue stitching now. If my relative wants too take it further he`s been told to to write a letter to Renault UK and see what they say.
