the past week ive been in salford, manchester visiting the girlfriend. while i was there i had to leave my clio outside the gates because visitors cant park within the uni accomadation compound. it was fine until 3:00 am monday morning when some absolute cum rag thought it would be a nice idea to torch my car... i couldnt believe it, and i cant see why anyone would do it? because im a poor student i only had third party insurance so thats it, i cant even claim. well i for one have lost faith in human nature, and would advise you all never to leave your car out of sight or anywhere where youre not COMPLETELY sure its going to be ok. i hope the scummer who did it dies in a fire tbh, im sure its not the first time the f*ckers done it. dont take anything for granted thats all i have to say...and i miss my car =[

i really don't understand some people. we need to start killing people imo. there should be a system in place whereby if you have commited a certain amount of crimes or had a certain amount of complaints against your name you go on death trial and if your a c**t you get killed. lol. im sick.

As much as I would like to defend this area, you get idiots like the person who did that to your car spoiling it for everyone.

sorry to hear that. My brothers car got set alight few weeks back and that was on the street where we park at home!!
He was third party and insurance paid out fine as its fire damage. all you have to pay is 100 pounds which they just take off the amount theyl give you.
He bought the car for 2.5k 1 year before it got burnt and they paid back 2.4k and got extra 300 quid for his sub speakers and amp.

someone on my facebook has just had their car torched in the same area, i would be thinking about public transport at this point
cheers for the comments guys, its nice to know there are decent people out here who find it just as f*cked up. to answer peoples questions, the only reason i had to choose third party only is that i couldnt afford the deposit on any other policy at the time =[ i did manage to get cctv footage, but as you know, its pretty futile so ive given up hope of ever catching the guy. the accomadation i was at is called bramall court, so please for the love of god dont park your car outside overnight. the pisstake is that since this happened to my car, visitors are now allowed to park inside. at least i might have helped stop this happen to someone elses car eh?

Ever since I had a car stolen years back I take as many precautions as I can too prevent being parted from my beloved little clio, even go as far as a wheel clamp/steering lock/gearstick lock every night after all its 2mins to fit and can make the difference between having/not having the car in the morning!

again, cheers for the kind words guys, shows that you lot unlike many others do give a f*ck. as i say, im not covered at all for fire damage so im not going to get a penny, nearly had to pay for recovery aswell! i know theres loads of things you can do to protect your car, id taken everything out of it when i left it and taken the face of the stereo (for all the good it did) so basically dont take your cars security for granted, you may have an alarm and stuff, but it wont stop some absolute low life from trashing your pride and joy just for the hell of it, so make sure you leave it where you know this isnt going to happen. ive learned my lesson the hard way unfortunately, ill be taking the bus next time!

I paid a grand for it and got 1400 back from the insurance when I showed them pictures after I bought it and refurbed it so to speak.
lucky on the payout - heart broken tho. took them 3 months to pay out too.
I loved that car to pieces so I know how it feels.
I often have to go to the co op in edenbridge area, and on a fri/sat night, there are so many young 15-17 year old looking chavs piled up sitting on the trollies outside or gangs of them in the back of the car park all smoking drugs and drinking vodka straight ON THE STREETS, I get worried when I go in so I rush my shopping.
