How to tell the difference between cup pack and non visually???

how on earth do you tell the difference between the cup pack and non cup pack visually and even when you drive it? how bad is a non packed one compared to a ff?
what's to stop someone putting antracite wheels on a non packed and it looking exactly the same so you cant tell?

I'd assume 182, as 172 cup doesnt have ANTHRACITE wheels.

Does the cup'd 182 'aqctually' have any wider track?? I remember when I spec'd mine out from new, there was a big thing on it just being better, harder walled, tyres on the anthracite wheels, and that the wider track was dropped by Renault in favour of this. iirc

The ride height was about 3mm lower though I think.

I'd have thought that any car that left the factory with the cup packs, would be recorded on the info that would come up on computer when entering the VIN no. at a dealer.

Fair enough.
Was nigh-on impossible to get a straight answer from the dealer at the time, indeed from anyone! Sure there was going to be a wider track (presumably from the 172) but then Renault came up with the 'super dooper' tyres and the seemed to very little conclusive proof of what you actually DID get for ya dollar.
Bearing in mind, the 182 hadnt actually been released when I ordered mine early in 2004.

Either way.. was an awsome car! Had some fantastic fun in it over my 3 years of ownership.

It sounds stupid, but I've noticed non-cupped 182s with anthracites put on - pretty much straight away. They do look noticably higher. Of course, there is nothing to stop the owner dropping it a bit to disguise that fact. ;)

When I ordered my 182, it was a definite that I would pick the cup pack option. For the amount (£250, iirc?) - it was just daft imo not to add it to the list. If only I could have stretched another £1,200 for the petrol blue!
