If you had £1500 to spend on your car...

  UR R26R.5, VW Golf R
You've been given £1500 to spend on your car (don't bother checking your pockets, this is purely hypothetical). What would you buy?

For the purposes of this thread, base everything on your car being standard (if it isn't already). Therefore if you have a mod currently on your car you'd like to retain, simply take the value of it from the £1500. It's not rocket science, Einstein. Also, using the money for another car, a house deposit or a hooker aren't valid options.

I just ment, replace the car. Why spend money on 1500 pounds on modifications when you could just buy something else and have more fun?

I'd use it to pay for what its already booked in for...

Full wheel refurb inside and out 4 new decent tyres, full respray apart from the roof.

4x brand new shocks and Eibach springs. 4x new matching tyres. Geometry.

Anything left over, uprated ARB's.

Not the Frp/

Well quite, but that was the question and why I stated the option. Otherwise loads of people would just say spend the money on something else other than a sh*t box Clio.

Probably.

Would probably spend it getting the car mint as possible.

Anything left would go on a few small bits like solid top mounts or whiteline arb.

Wheels powdercoated.
Steering wheel professionally re-trimmed.
New exhaust (baffles rattling around on mine).
New shocks/springs (maybe even standard).
New stereo.

Certainly wouldn't bother wasting it on half hearted engine tuning tbh.

Think I'd go:

Coilovers
Turinis or other wheel resprayed in matte black (second hand and then refurbed to reduce cost)
RS Tuner
Inlet manifold powder coated
Exhaust system (second hand to reduce cost)
Induction kit or filter
Wheel spacers
Updated rear badge

Not sure how much I've spent there, but that's what I'll be going for, I reckon.

Cup spoiler - £275
Ly dash strips - £50?
Service - dunno how much

Then

H&R spring - £200?
20mm spacers -£150?
light anthracite speedlines £400

That leaves me around £500 for a 200 diffuser lol

On my Valver.

On my wifes Beetle, I'd have the bottom half wrapped in cream Vinyl, wooden roof rack, Coilovers and chassis notch, front end repainted due to stone chips.

Clio Discussion so I'll refer to one.

If I had a trophy I'd get TB's.

If I had a normal ClioSport then: Coilovers, solid top mounts, rear arb, some OZ F1's or 2118's (strictly 15's), and some DS pads.

After taking off the cost of all the mods it already has i'm prodably left with about 5/600quid,
so a very boring but essential cam/aux belt and dephaser service.

Assuming that the car didn't need it this year it'd be,
whiteline arb, polybushed wishbones & front arb, stiff shift kit, pure motorsport top-mount and strutbrace package.

Those 438 cams are popular.

402's for mine isn't it? I've got a 197.

Tempted to get some fitted when I get the belts done. It's not such a massive price then as i'm killing 2 birds with one stone!
