I saw some brake cooling ducts on Back Yard Civic which bolt straight onto the brembos. Directing air to the brake pipe and caliper. I know it's for brembos but the same idea could be used?

http://bycdesigns.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=67_17_64&product_id=106

Yeah I saw that. Will try this first see how it works. The problem is, there is literally half inch between chassis and wheel on full lock. So ducting can only go under the car. And not a big diameter. I already tried to fabricate some ducts out of planting gutter pipe by Bering and flattening it. But don’t like it.

What about something like 1/2 inch alloy box section with reducers on each end to fit the ducting onto to? Run it down the side of the chassis leg?

Maybe? I'm needing a solution to this problem also, so looking into different ideas

Fitted new heated windscreen (after I smashed the other one with in first 30min on track. Always check your bonnet pins!!
Cartek pdp can only supply 30amp max in dual Channel mode I decided to not use both channels for my screen (4 buttons) but fit 2 fused 30a relays. + PWM controller for speed control to my single wiper.

And on Monday went to Rockingham. What a great day with Trackobssesion! Apart from brakes (still having either pad knock back or boiling fluid or air in the system) nothing failed! Worked flawlessly. Best lap 1:34

I absolutely love the camera view from underneath.

Amazing to watch. Love how you can see the tyre move.

Whats your brake proportion valve set at? Have you had a play around with it on track?

I tried few positions. Found best one is 2 stops from max pressure. As far as I can tell. (Lever forward.)

Does the pedal feel any different when you run less pressure to the rear? Today I was having a play around and found I had more consistent pedal with less

Hmm I am not sure actually. Don’t think I spent enough time tinkering with it to understand. But with no pressure at rear the rear end was very lively at hard braking. Felt light it was getting very light and had a pendulum effect.. sort of. If it makes sense.

@pule333 I see what you mean, the rears would be trying to 'overtake' the fronts as the balance would be thrown out?

I thought about running a super aggressive compound on the rears with very little pressure to them, might feel like crap but would still like to try

Funny enough I had a similar idea. Currently have generic ferodo pads at back. But have a set of PBS wanna try out.
Front brakes are going for a full overhaul ;) big update coming soon. There is been some proper cooking in me kitchen haha

  Twingo 133 Cup,
Will be follow you guys with the brake upgrades. Although mine will be for a Twingo and used for rallying. It will be interesting to see how the 133's hold up as its a similar set up to the 172/182 same discs but uses laguna mk3 calipers.

and almost lost a wheel on the very last lap. as I didn't have spigot rings for my OZ Sparco wheels (completely forgot i needed them) so one of the studs got lost. and i ruined on of the hubs in the process. oh well, my fault again.

I lost a wheel at Spa... that wasn't fun at 100 accelerating around Pouhon. I'm not going to lie, poo came out.

(Top photo was in the paddock of death, bottom is its replacement 3 weeks later)

After examining the hub, wheel, studs and spacer... findings pointed towards a generic JJC 16mm spacer. They don't sit 100% flush to the hub and we're talking less than a millimeter, still enough of an issue to undo 120nm on a couple of the nuts. Odd thing is, didn't feel anything through the wheel up until everything failed. So no more spacers and I've ditched the F1's for ET35 TD 1.2's.

That's gutting to watch when it's not your fault, I'm not sure what make my spacers are but I'm definitely going to check them now after watching that

I've come back for a decent reading session on here and you lot have all been busy on your cars this year and I've been busy working :(

I really do need to pull my finger out and fit some stuff to my car! its got 10% of the stuff this car has! IF that!

The car sounds great and that video with the camera's mounted in different locations is brilliant! I was fixated on the suspension and wheel movements and I'm sure this is exactly why you placed it there, so you could see just what alterations (if any) may work best!

great thread and ill be back for more to see how this progresses! top work

There is a lot of talk about aero pros/cons etc.
But I wanted to try myself. Partly cos I am stubborn and extra 5kg won’t make a difference and partly cos I like making things. Used 4mm ally for brackets.
12mm marine ply
extra cooling ducts,
And lawn edging for an air dam.

Will test tommorow at Bedford. One thing for sure it looks cool and will be hard getting on/off trailer..

Looks good Ilya. Just watch the rear doesn't get too light in high speed corners.

I'll be at Bedford tomorrow actually. Look for the Race prepared 350Z. The car will be there from the start but i won't be arriving until about 10am.

Splitter looks mega [emoji848][emoji1303]

And it works mega! A bit too much downforce! Rob was right about rear getting light in high speed corners lol. Did a short off-road course past the pit straight at Bedford yesterday. Mowing the lawn with that blade ha ha. After dialled in suspension a little softening the rears and stiffening fronts just a touch. Need more aero at rear 100%

Little vid from Bedford 25/09/18

I am happy, it’s faster around Bedford than my RS4 by a good 6sec. Not that I was timing or anything. [emoji13]
Camera is about 4inch from
The ground. Hard mounted to splitter. A little too low I think. Need to revise that.
