Is 172 FF meant to sound like this?

Ive had my 172 FF for a week now, got use to it now sort of.
Still not use to the ferocious power, im not so much driving it as holding on for dear life!

When its started from cold it sounds like a bag of spanners,
aftrer about two minutes it settles down, then after its warmed up
its better still, but when idleing it still shudders, grumbles a murmers.

Is this normal?

Ive never realy owned a proper performance car before,
the fastest thing ive owned was a brand new Golf GT 4Motion 140bhp.

My mates got a 182 cup and his is well quiet except for the
SS Miltek Exhaust. (His is newish though) 8,000 miles on it.

The power delivery on mine is smooth on constant,
so that makes me think its OK, I just must not be use to them.

they sometimes make a whirring noise on first start up aswel, always make sure to let the engine warm up properly before planting your foot down.

  172 Cup
I don't want to put a spanner in the works but my Cup always sounds fine when started from cold. Granted it's a bit lumpy to drive for the first minute or so but noise wise it's fine.

talking with jay172 who used to be the head reno tech guy before he left them and he told me not all clios are exactly the same some idle rubbish some dont likewise with start up.
i wouldnt worry dude if it runs fiine wouldnt worry

mine drives horrible for the first couple of mins throttle feels very strange... generally everyone i have been in or seen idle's lumpy been told its to do with emissions or something not sure if its truth or whatever get it warm and mine is fine then... welcome to the world of clio's... you will find a new problem every week...
nah there not that bad... wouldnt part with mine for anyone now!

I am about to change the oil and filter, aswell as the air filter
so hopefully it will sound a bit better when starting in the
morning.

Its a good car, it just has a few quirks.

Mine 182 sounded fine but lately sounds like a bag of spanners underneath which sounds like the exhaust is fecked! Still the original Renault one on it which hence why i've just ordered a GDI one before it falls off

My '0-2 172 idles a little rough and is lumpy when cold, its normal due to the cam profiles. Be nice to it until its been runing awhile and it will be nice to you!

However minestarted to sound like a bag of spanners underneath like Longy said and I checked the backbox and cat heatshield but it all looked good. Then around 2 weeks later I was driving to work and suddenly it sounded like an F1, I pulled over and looked below to see the whole system including the cat had come away from the down pipe! It spat flame when I blipped the throttle lol

Mines a little tapperty when first started from cold and also hesitant/lurchy. Its worse with cheap fuel in it but its fine once warm.
