Just bought a 2001 172 phase 2 need a few pointers..

Evening Gents, just got me hands on a phase 2 172 on a 51 plate, i bought the car knowing it needed a fair bit of work as its covered 80k now and only has history until 58K there's no receipts for any major work i.e cambelt aux belt etc. i have a couple questions if anyone can help? i just bought a gates cambelt kit, aux belt kit, water pump, front disc's with ferodo pads, Dephaser pulley, all the usual service bits plugs, leads filters etc..
Are there any extra little bits I've forgotten for the above jobs i.e seal's or gaskets? Don't know much about the 172's its the first Renault I've owned. any info on extra bits i may need would be appreciated.. Also do all 172's have the Dephaser pulley?

They have a dephaser

And you need the cambelt tools in order to change it. You got the aux kit or just belt?

If it was me, while you are doing the cambelt (with the proper tools I hope!) then you may as well re-seal the rocker cover as they tend to weep oil.

Don't forget to replace the end caps with brand new ones as well.

And yes, all 172/182's have dephaser pulley's.

I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing will be along soon to add more to my list.

Thanks chaps, Wasn't just a auxbelt was a tensioner and pulley or idler of some sort.. I have someone doing the work for me but told him i have all the bits he needs so was just checking before i looked a plumb and didnt have all the parts needed, is there a seal i need for the dephaser ?

Has he worked on clio's before? Does he have the right tools?

Yeah he has all the tools etc he's proper, worked on clios before...
