k-tek top mounts + trophy camber = happy 182

fitted my prolines last week and noticed the oem top mounts were knackered. so i madde a few phone calls and managed to pick up a set of k-tek's brannd new solid top mounts (only the k-tek track car and my car have them fitted) :cool:

so i took the car to jabba sport today to get them fitted. while i was at it they suggested adjusting the camber to the same spec as a trophy. also got my tracking done, which was a long way out :eek:

other recent mods include
-prolines
-new number plates
-repaired splitter
-original 1*2 grille

next on the list
-brake ducting
-possibly remove rear interior
-carpet rear (stripped area)

has anyone carpeted the rear of the car? if so, what did you use and how did you do it? and if you could post pics up that would be great too.
also im thinking of removing the heat/sound proofing in the engine bay. has anyone done this? the k-tek show car had it removed and it looked great! will the area be painted or will i need to paint it? will it be much noiser/warmer in the car?

hmmmm, your right. i just found some pics of the k-tek track car and the top mounts are a bit different. these were from k-tek tho, they do look like the ben-p compbrake ones. k-tek will be selling them soon tho i think

they have developed a set of KTR solid top mounts to their own specification.

Your superleggs are quite an important mod to mention too!

Way lighter than standard... better for suspension & brakes. :)

random question, but how did you know your top mounts were shot exactly? im sure mine have been creaking a bit lately. but not 100% sure it is the top mounts.

car looks really good by the way.

well, there was a bit of play in the top mount and it didn't look to be sitting right. fitted new springs, and when the top mounts came off i noticed how much they had worn out in the middle. they should sit snug to a washer (i think) but there was about a 4mm gap all round :eek:
so i got some solid top mounts as quick as possible :)

Looking fine clio_luke how do you adjust the camber when fitting Eibach prolines,are you running on standard shocks?

yeh im running standard shocks. im not sure how jabba sport altered my camber, think there is a camber adjusting bolt, and i read somewhere that with the compbrake solid top mounts you can change the camber?? they altered it by just over .5 of a degree i believe. same as the trophy apparently

that top mount looks excalty the same as the compbrake one but blue

anyone know the differences, if ktec have developed these!?

I phoned up jabba sport was intrested as to how they adjusted the camber and they said that they just adjusted the tracking to parralell no camber difference?! can you explain how this is done on yours any pics of the correction bolts?

camber was altered slightly. not as much as i would have liked tho.
camber bolts are sold on k-tek's website. should have pics on there. im going to get myself a set of camber adjusting bolts soon

im getting a slight knocking noise when going over small bumps, only done it since fitting the camber bolts :( any ideas what it could be?

I no that camber bolts exist eibach make them for clio's also. Infact my raider used camber correctors with sasch decarbon dampers before I fitted avo coilovers, 7 years ago!? Its just you say jabba sport set your car up adjusting the camber to .5? when I spoke with them they seemed to think you were chatting nonsense (his exact words you can get bulls47ted sometimes on forums) because they only fitted springs and adjusted tracking to parralell. Now you say you want to fit get these camber bolts (how can you fit them twice)and then that you have a knock since you fitted !?

lol, hardly 'busted' alex.

im just telling you what they said they had done.
-fitted springs
-top mounts
-adjusted tow settings to parralell
-slight camber adjustments (i don't know how, i don't have camber adjusting bolts fitted but i took their word for it)
-tracking

after meeting my friend (luke) from jabba tuesday night, he said that you can adjust the camber very slightly from the shocks. don't quiz ME on this because im not technical minded enough. thats why i take my car to proffesionals. i was just telling people on here what work i thought i had done to my car.

Very smart matey, when you come to stripping out the rear gimmie a shout as i have a one piece carpet that will cover it.

The trophy has camber of 0.5, i changed mine to 2.0 by fitting an aero quality 12mm bolt, cost- almost nothing.

how much do you want for the carpet? what type of carpet stuff is it?
will definatly have some of this off you
