Started today mounting the ECU, Fuse boxes and Bulkhead connector.
Come out pretty well I think. I need one more mount for the top right of the fuse box and 4 hands to bolt the bulkhead connector up.
Ignore the fuel lines and gear cables as they need finishing off.

These engines response well to having a longer pipe from the air filter to throttle body when breathing fresh cool air, so mine will sit something like this.

Can see the filter sticking out here and the plan will be to duct it from the front somewhere

I hope it flows enough as it the same one I have 😆. ITG say its good for 480hp just hope its not too much of a restriction in N/A applications.

Also cable-tec are the company my mate used to shorten the gear shifter cables. Im going to source some ktuned or hybrid racing cables and send them in to be shortened.

Can’t see it being an issue, I emailed ITG about them before i saw these on eBay cheap.

Racing circuits can get them made to any length you need if you know the length required.

That is the preferred route I'd like to take just couldn't get hold of them. I'll give it a few more goes to get into contact with them.

Been tweaking the ecu, spaced it out an extra 10mm so the looms can pass behind it and finalised the bulkhead connector.

Fuel hose needs addressing, brake hoses need ordering to finish off the loom.

Finalised the bias valve location

Id been looking at ordering Race Ramps blocks to put the car on to make it easier to work on but decided they wouldn’t really help as I need at least one door fully open currently. So ordered 4 wheel dolly skates which has made loads of room.

Are they the SGS Dollies? I'm in the process of sorting my garage to make room for my new Clio, and was looking at these. Figured it'd make it easier to move the car up tight against the wall when it's just in storage, and pull into the middle of the garage when working on it. My garage is only 6m x 3m wide and i don't want the Clio parked up in the middle all the time making the rest of the garage difficult to get too.

Anyway, are they any good and how easy/difficult is it to push the car around?

I can answer this as I have some SGS ones at home. Used them on the Escort Mexico rebuild we are doing.

Yeah, theyre not too bad. Obviously gotta have a pretty flat floor otherwise they get stuck A LOT. Mexico's are probs a similar weight to a clio (well, ours was once half stripped) and it wasnt too difficult to push. I could move the car around myself with some effort. Hope that helps

Cheers mate, yeah I wasn't expecting it to be easy to move, even fully stripped a Clio is going to be around 950kg, just that it's manageable for a single person. It's a new garage with a concrete floor, though I've not looked at the finish yet, as it's got rubber matting down from when i used it for a gym space over the last 5-6 years.

As long as you arent trying to push it over the rubber matting, you'll be reet :)

Depending on your strength obvs but ive got chopstick legs so im sure youll be fine

Awesome work as always mate. Those sgs dolly's are so good too. I have sealey ones and they are absolutely battered they have taken some right stick over the years. One is bent in half pretty much and one has a wheel missing 😂

I can't quite make it out from your photo but potentially this point is moot if you already have them (the mount on the left looks like it may already have a set on so ignore me if so) but I'd recommend anti vibration washers for the ecu where it mounts to the car.

I didn't have any on mine and the vibration actually vibrated the chip out of the ecu and the car went into limp mode. The board just slots back in but it was unnecessary drama/problems.

The dolly’s aren’t as easy to move as I thought they’d be. The wheels are too small really and get stuck in any rut. My floor isn’t perfect but not bad, I’ve put carpet down to cover the whole floor which m has made it slightly easier. Think I’ll probably go back to making a dolly out of bigger wheels from screw fix and a pallet as it moved really well then. So easy to the point that I leant on the wing once and it shot across my garage 😂

Yeah ECU is mounted to the carbon panel on anti vibration bobbin mounts with anti vibration padding also, then the carbon mount is also mount mounted to the bulkhead with the same. Really solid but hopefully won’t rattle

New fuel lines made, new brake lines in and a general tidy up inside to start planning the wiring routing.

The drivers side engine mount. Where it’s etched/engraved ‘custom production’. Makes my teeth itch.

Like people don’t f**king know 😂

100% it would be going in my mates milling machine and removed. lol!
Why? This conversion has been spoken about since 2006 and the guys succeeded in bringing a kit to market and in doing so, has taken pride in his work and is not ashamed to put his name on it! On another note if you do get a batch of the bulkhead plates made in carbon I’ll have one - I’m on the gram more than here though @thatk20clio

I can’t remember if I gave you any paint with the shell.

If you’re struggling then I can get a few L knocked up for you for the bonnet [emoji108]

Being a designer I love a good livery...
however unless you are racing I think a livery looks a bit strange... the car looks great in that colour scheme I think it really looks nice the way it is - not my car though obviously

Agree with @Naffoff. It looks blinkin' brilliant in the grey with the few red details.

I think liveries on track days are a bit, well, naff (sorry :ROFLMAO: ) really.

Good job the plan has always been to race the car 😂😂 plus it saves painting the bonnet and door.

I had 2 Japanese race liveries in mind that I’d put my own twist on.
