keep it or px?

  Monaco 172
Hi all, dilemma as follows.

Got a 53 plate Monaco 172. Love the car but not the colour.
It's on 98k now history up to 70k and receipts after. And belts done Jan 2011 at 82k.

Do I A) get the dephaser and belts done on this then tidy her up - wheel return etc or B) px it for the colour of my choice.......

Your thoughts please

If you mean px for a 172 in a different colour personally I wouldn't bother, unless its done considerably less miles maybe.

Despite monaco blue being the worst colour for a clio, I wouldn't get rid of it just for another colour, especially if you know the car well.

PX if you're unhappy. Theres nothing worse than owning a car you don't like.

What colour do you have in mind? Bright coloured 182?

Be gay like harpham and swap your car for the same one but yellow lol

I wouldn't say it's the worst colour but I'm going off the very dark colours. I'd love a silver or the flame red colour though.

Worst colour for a ph2 is black! Monaco is ok, but for some reason I still think the best ones are the odyssey blue ph1s. I want one.

Maybe I'm just being a tit as I'm away with work and don't have the car with me.

Detail this weekend and sort my head out I think. Gotta find what's bugging me with it.

well I have given her a quick mini detail today to try and make my mind up whats bugging me.

I think its that its not personal enough to me if that makes sense.

so I have come up with a plan :

Service belts and pulley
refurb wheels
lower springs or coilovers tbc
get the dents sorted
I would like to add some colour to it somehow but dunno what to do......

That's really nice! Maybe go a little darker on the alloys, 182 Cup alloys would finish that little peach off a treat. Possibly go for a few detail colour changes, Orange mirror covers with matching brake callipers would look good, depends what you're into though, I think it looks great as it is!

cheers G, I think i just need to make it mine. I'm toying with the idea of spraying the wheels white with manaco blue renault badges on the centre caps and all other badges in matching white.

lots of ideas flowing now!

I'd keep hold of it if you'd only be px'n it in for another 1*2. At least with with this one you know what needs doing and you know the car inside out, you could end up with one that needs a lot more money spending on it.

I'd go anthracite on the wheels, darken them like Spee said. Colour code the bullets so they are Monaco Blue and maybe do the lettering on the bullets orange? Maybe orange diamonds too, just a small splash of colour.

Sorry am I missing something? You're on about replacing the belts, but they are not yet due - is the dephaser making a noise?

Sorry I wasn't very clear, belts not due but it's a non genuine belt and the dephaser is just starting to sound a lil bit.
