kenwood head units

looking at buying a kenwood h/u, as i have an old one thats on its last legs, but want a new one that'll plug onto my existing kenwood changer

i was looking at a KDCW707,

then looking at an adapter lead to fit my car (172 cup) for the steering controls.

but then i read this

(says not compatible with 182 sport..... or multiplexed systems. I was under the impresion the 172/182 ran multiplex wiring?

any clues or any other models out there? (don't want to spend more than 200 notes really) but want to use the steering controls

I had Kenwood headunit KMD 6527 in my 182, and also the interface, which I haven't removed yet as not had enough time. (will be selling it)
