Sold the Saxo this morning so took a few last photos for nostalgia...

Was a cracking little car, mechanically sound and very quick after a few breather mods (manifold back,decat,new filter etc)

Easily a match for any RS clio at a fraction of the price.

Its new owner will be tracking the old girl!

It was a quality little car, handled like nothing else!

I'll just be using the girlfriends C1 for the nex few weeks/months, unitl we get on our feet (after just moving into our first house)

Fair play although you've just upset me with the 330 comment. Not a fan.

It wasnt a better "car" but it was more fun...

The 182 was more of an allrounder - it did 90% of things better than the saxo (just not as raw)

I feel the same way about a 106 rallye. I really want one, but not at the expense of getting rid of the 172.

Have to agree with you mate. The VTS is every bit as quick and handles better than a 172/182 but the Clio is the nicer car to drive and the better overall car.

It's the power delivery and the feel of the controls that sets the Clio apart for me, when you're not in the mood the Saxo/106 just felt rough to me.

Nice buy Doncaster_K9! I couldn't think of a better track car. For that purpose they're better than a clio IMO.

My mates currently building one at the moment, it's a simple spec just breathing mods, bucket seats slightly stripped interior and lowered on springs/dampers, and I honestly reckon it would run rings round my 172 on track.

Not much to create a thread about tbf. As Alex's mate (post above) is doing, the same will be done, albeit the breathing mods & suspension are done.

I will probably post about my track experiences though, it'll be a comedy read.
