Looking at a 182 tonight!!

  133/225/CLS AMG
My missus is looking to buy a Clio 182 and we're going to look at one tonight.

14,000 miles, blue, no cup packs. advertised at £8900. I'm reckoning that I could probably get the price down from that though.

What do people think its worth, noticed that one of the wheels is kerbed slightly in one of the pics. Apart from that it looks pretty good. Driving 28 miles to view it so not too far away.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!! :) :)

wouldnt buy without cup packs mate, and the price isnt that cheap.

You should be able to get one with cup packs for that kinda money with the same mileage.

Thats cool, bearing in mind that my gf is going from a 106 Quicksilver to the 182 so as its not essential to have the cup packs.

What price would it be worth though????

The problem is that a significant amout of future buyers will only want one with the cup packs on. So I would get one with, just for the ease of selling it in the future. what plate is it on???

Its an 04 plate as well so an early 182!!

I sold my 53 reg 172 last year for £7400 but I'm not up on the prices of the 182s.

I paid just over £9k for mine. 05 plate. Was on 12k miles (motorway miles), both cup packs. Immaculate condition, not a scratch anywhere.

Coz you reckon she's gonna enjoy it??? lol

I had a 172 on 14,500 so I know what condition it should be in. she test drove one and loved it but I want to find her one thats as new as possible. Don't want my pants pulled down over the price when she could put that money into other bits for the car!!

^ Suggest 8. Deffinately don't let him bully you any higher than 8.1, especially if there's one or two little things like scratches kerbed wheels etc. Just tell him no thanks it's 8.1 very max or nothing. If he's not happy with that then walk away, there's a fair few about so you shouldn't have trouble finding the right one for the right money.

Me and the missus have both agreed that unless we get it exactly for the price we want then its not worth it. she's happy to walk away and keep looking.

I've done a search within 60 miles of my post code (CR8), £8-£10k, under 20,000 miles and I've only got 3 results for 182s!!! Thats for sale privately but not that many for sale on autotrader :(

I'll bear all this in mind, seen a few lower mileage examples at garages but they are a fair bit more expensive.

Its only bloody raining here now, no point going to see it in the rain!!! lol

Sounds like a different view from someone there. Its good to get everyone's ideas, gives me something to work with when i view it. :D

Apart from the resale of the car, bearing in mind this is for a girl whose not gonna be throwing the car round like a go-kart. But wants something with the power where she wants it. Are the cup packs going to be essential to her?? I loved my full fat 172 and the chassis can't be far from the normal non cupped 182?????

Provided I can get it for a good price, I think she'd have a none cupped version.

Whoever is selling it, won't drop 8-900 quid of the price of his car, unless he is absolutely desperate - also you said that there are only 3 182s for sale within 60miles of where you live - he probably knows this too. Basically it'll be down to who plays the better poker - I reckon he would probably 400 quid off the price tops.

She would love a Trophy but slightly out of her price range!!! :(

I'm gonna be cheeky about the pricing of the car, he may be pricing it high to test the water. I know I did that with my 172, see who'll pay it. The missus said she'd be prepared to pay £8400 for it. Bearing in mind the kerbed wheel which she'll want repaired.
