Major 182 rewiring today... Excellent!

  Clio 197
I never thought I'd finish it!

I've majorly rewired my car today:

1) Live feed directly from battery (fused) through the bulkhead, into the cabin.
2) Distribution block connected to it.
3) From the distribultion block:
(a) +ve feed & new earth to a switchable circuit, controlled via a relay switch (connected via 300W cable).
(b) Direct feed to amp via cable + (instantly removable via banana connectors).
(c) Direct feed to bluetooth car kit (switchable via ignition-on circuit).

4) Relay switch circuit can:
i - Be left "on" via a switch.
ii - Be switched "on/off" automatically via ignition-on signal from lighter socket.
iii - As ii above, but stays on for 2 hours after ingition off via 555 timer chip, so as to leave chargers running (without risk of running the battery flat accidentally overnight).
(a) Feed to car cradle (charger + antenna).
(b) Feed to 4-socket lighter socket extension (independant of car's original lighter socket).
(b) Feed to cooler box.

5) Phone Cradle & Strip-Antenna installed (as described above).

6) Re-located car-kit Speaker & Mic to reduce feedback; re-routed the wiring for the same reason.

I'm pooped now. Anyone wanna make me a cuppa tea?

nice work mate, I am interested in doing the relay thingy. Makes good sense to do it this way, with a delay, as I am sure there aer spikes in current output when you turn key.

^^

Good point there. Sometimes it can affect your equipment, although the transformer for my car kit is pretty good (fingers crossed).

I'm yet to install a timed "stereo off" function - which switches it off automatically when I lock the car.
