Mk1 172 Trophy droped 40mm

Hey everyone, jst thought id host some pics of the new mods ive done to my RS-1, Trophy alloys wrapped in 205/45/16 michelin pilot exaltos were fitted yesterday, i wasnt sure if they would suit the car but now they are on i love them lol, My springs arrived on friday so ive lowered it 40mm on apex springs makes so much difference to the looks and handling im well pleased, oh and ive also fitted mk2 ph2 rear lights and silver visions to match the front, a mk2 v6 spoiler is on order and hopefully the side strips and handles should be back from the paint shop this week

hmmm they a massively different offset? looks well but they appear tucked deep into the arches?

Was just about to say, they need spacers to account for the 182's different offset. Looks good though.

My dads standard 172 wheels look the same as mine in terms of how far they took in the arch (his is lowered 40mm also, and the same tyres) there is no rubbing or catching even with ppl in the back so im pleased, rich 16v i forgot to check the offset ill check this at the weekend when i paint the calipers, not sure to paint them a mustard yellow or a light gold any opinions?

They are ET45

Dealer ones are ET45 but places like Ktec do them in ET40 or ET37 in the R5 range

Nah, the paint wears off the springs pretty quick in my experience... :dapprove:

Thanks very much for the coments everyone Jay yeah they are the proper trophy ones from reno, Tyson hopefully my sidestrips will be back from the paintshop this week, get them fitted and its almost done and its only been two weeks lol, Ally im leaving the back bumper on, the yellow paint on my dads apex springs hasnt worn off,(yet) and he fitted his a week after he bought his mk2 172 in 2002.
