Mondial Cup - A614

JMR

  RB 182 Cup
Spotted 52 plate coming off A614 near Farnsfield, Notts at White Post Farm roundabout.

He came off the roundabout behind me, so of course I gave it some beans to see if he'd follow the bait [you know, with him having the lighter 'faster' car;)]

He took it alright, caning it right up to ***mph:S

Must admit he wasn't all over me as I've been re-mapped:cool:, but it was obvious I had the bigger balls when it came to the sharper corners on the country roads, with the confidence of my ABS and traction control.

Plus the fact I was nice and comfy in my leather and alcantara seats with the heat reflective windscreen keeping me cool without having to have my climate control on.

Just havin a bit of a laugh as us FF owners always get scoffed at by you Cuppies.:D

Duncan

We were shifting a bit IIRC!!!!!

Nice one, car looks great mate, love the enlarged spoiler and turinis on the cup. However I do loads of miles so need the pampering of the luxury items that come with the FF!

First time anyones responded to any of my SPOTTED posts! Although no ones ever seen me yet:dapprove:

You got any mods on yr car? oh and where abouts do you live mate, I'm over at Newark.

Yeah its a nice little stretch of road. your car looked good to, like the Monaco blue, don't see many of them. Im based in Farnsfield so use that road quite a lot. As for mods got a cat-back magnex, BMC CDA with CAF through front fog light, K-tec Carbon fibre front splitter, Corbeau Forza seats, and for weekend use Sabelt 4pt harnesses. I do quite a few miles to but I dont mind the lack of comfort! Its all good fun

Mutual respect then....magic.:approve:

I've got a RS Tuning re-map, ITG panel filter and Powerflow 2" stealth stainless cat back.

I was running on normal 95 ron fuel last week and it was cr4p. Got v-power back in this week so all smiles, noticeably better.

Cool, nice choice of mods. I was looking at getting a remap but had to stop modifying it now as I'm back at uni full time so dont have enough spare cash to throw at it. Boooooo.

Never mind goes quick enough and sounds good so cannot really complain!

Is your exhaust noisy then duncan?

A lot of people go for the 2.25" or 2.5" enlarged system, but I wanted something nice and quite as the OE backbox fell off.:dapprove: So the guys at Powerflow stuck with the 2" bore same as the original.

Its quite round town now, little bit boomy at 2500rpm [like 50mph in 5th] but over 60mph or 3000rpm it really starts sounding nice and sporty. Bounces of the limiter at 7650rpm!

Like i said earlier, I dont use anything other than V-power. Massive difference to power delivery.

ps my re-map gave me loads more pull at lower revs - for 275 notes it was a bit expensive but worth it.

Yeah i think ther magnex has a 2.5" bore but it isn't too loud around town and at low revs. The magnex systems seem to be quite deep but I like the way it sound during spirited driving, but the induction kit makes a fair bit of noise to, so whenever you put your foot down it growls!

However it does get a bit annoying on the motorway, especially with less sound proofing! But I don't do too much motorway driving so its alright.

Think i will get my insurance and cam belt out the way before I have any more mods done. Plus i need it to last at least the next two years before it completely breaks, maybe i should drive it more sensibly? Yeah not going to happen.

I use V-power just about all the time as well, used a few others in the past but as you say it never seems to run as well on them.

So you got any more mods lined up?

Needs rear pads at moment so cash going on that to start with.

Also got a bit of rattling from engine bay when slowing down over bump roads, so need to check engine/gearbox mounts are loose and suspension top struts.

Was going to go for one of BenR's matched inlet manifolds from Angelworks. About 200+vat fitted for around 7-12bhp. Bit expensive, so may save up a bit first. Sounds like a good mod though by all accounts.

Other than that, gonna whack some new spark plugs in, car's done 53k on originals, so i think its about time.
