Just read through your entire thread...really enjoyable, thanks for taking the time to document the journey with your cars, great attention to detail.
It seems to be the done thing to ask for first dibs on your cars ...... so RB for me please..
Cheers Paul.

Sorry mate just seen your message and thanks for the kind words.
Racing Blue will probably be for sale soon mate, just a couple of small jobs to do :)

Spent a few hours in the evening past couple of days and got a couple of jobs done done that let the car down a bit.

Headlight restoration (yes I know there xenon/none cup).

Took a couple of hours but came out like new.
Usual routine of 400 to 1500 wet and dry then polished with cutting compound, polished and sealed.

Sorry no before photos but they were yellow.

Scuttle panel restoration

Plastic scuttles were faded light grey, wiper arms marked and a bit scabby, new cabin filter to fit and also check the drains were okay and thorough clean.

That's looking fantastic Paul, top work!

How easy are the wipers to remove? I wouldn't mind cleaning mine up similar

Thanks Louis - they’re quite easy to remove but can be stuck on the spindles shafts due to rust. If they’re stuck on, undo the 13mm nut slightly and give the nut a tap with a hammer whilst pulling on the wiper arm up and they eventually come free.
I cleaned the shaft spindles up with a wire wheel and put a coat of copper grease on before putting the wiper arms back on.

Change of coilovers. Bought some Spax adjustable coilovers from @Ardvark172 a few weeks back, gave them a full inspection and all good :) so gave them a refurb and fitted them this morning.

I had fun and games setting the camber but with the help of my Chinese camber tool we got there!

And how the car now sits.

Just spotted your old storm meglio for sale on pistonheads Paul.
How much is a refurb on the sachs these days?

I will have to take a look at Pistonheads - how much is it?

Not sure on the true costs but I’m sure it’s £250 + per shaft but very worth it.

Oh Jesus.... the meglio is back up for sale? I miss that thing!

I think you get a discount for being a previous owner ;)
Looking good Paul, always like reading your updates.

Do you happen to have a link to your camber tool?

Thanks mate.
It’s a Chinese job - think it was about a tenner. The whole set up takes a bit of time as prep is key but basically make sure the car is level across front and rear axles and use the rear discs face as zero degree marker and then attach to the front disc face and go from there.

I dropped the seller a message about the Storm last night, haven’t had a response yet but this morning the advert has been taken down.

Guess it’s sold. Gutted!

A few bits done under the bonnet.

Fitted 2.0 16v decal on the engine cover. Sprayed the cover a couple of months ago.

Sprayed the engine lift bracket:

Also fitted my “fatty” induction from the Trophy and this how it’s looking so far.

The storm has been sold on since the person bought it from you, then up for sale again a month or so after. Shame to see it moving about so much!

Yes a real shame! Unless it’s somebody flipping it on for a small profit maybe - or couldn’t get insurance when they listed the mods.

It's also a pretty uncompromising car - if anyone thinks they're going to daily it like a regular 200 it really is quite different with all the extra bracing etc. It's actually a decent motorway cruiser, but from memory it needs you to be engaged with it everywhere else or it'll sniff out a camber and be off towards the kerb :ROFLMAO:

Part of what makes it so much fun IMO.

I found it very nice to drive just cruising but like you say get it wrong with the boost near a corner and it did test your driving skills :) :)

I moved across my Fatty induction to the Racing Blue and sourced a standard air-box.

Managed to find some standard airbox brackets and stripped the paint off:

And painted:

Removed items and realised the battery from the Racing Blue was a large one:

New smaller one bought - £28 from ECP :)
Airbox, pipes and a K & N panel fitted:

All back together and an original spec K & N sticker put on the airbox:

When I ran a standard airbox, I found that night heater hose out of the trucks fitted on the 2 inlets. I replaced both of those fabric pipes with the corrugated night heater hose and it allowed me to run them to better areas for cold air feeds.
I even extended the fins in the bottom of the wheel arch liner to catch more air and feed it to the main air feed.

It definitely made an improvement, but I changed over to the v6 airbox in the end mounted directly to the TB. With no bonnet skin, it was a massive improvement as the amount of cold air was vastly increased.

Thanks mate but for the miles I drive in it I don’t think it will matter to much ;)

A new MOT gained but advisory given for sticky front brake.

Brakes stripped and found the caliper pot sticking. So replacement found, cleaned and painted with new bleed valve.
