mot fail

  ibiza cupra
it failed today on a few stupid things like the hazaed light switch (which i have already replaced before hand ) but two thigs wer the os rear shock leaking fluid (arnt they gas?) and the other is the os front constant velocity joint insecure ( wtf is that) how much are shocks and do i have to get them in pairs and whats the other bit all about. is that just a posh word for the top mounts on the suspension or somthing and would it explain the knocking coming from my steering cheers

shocks are liquid, you can get them seperate. They just advise to get them in a pair. The CV joint is the driveshaft, probably the boot come away. Very common on 172's, if its just come away and lost a little grease get some grease and a large jubilee clip :)

make sure they dont try and fob you off with a driveshaft or complete new boot because usually they dont need them
