not as good as if you was to do it mate the af stuff dont seem to have the cutting power it needs tbh.
Honestly never used the af kit but it doesn't get rave reviews.Have a look on polished bliss at the scholl polishes

Why are you ruining it?

It went from clean and oem to 'oh look, a chavvy mini' in one post.
ill most likly end up with stripes back but not white ones. same as with the clios end of the day things have been tried and tested some work some dont removing spots is a std thing to do as is black grilles so on so on

I'm the same. Could do with a touch more lowz, but unless I buy coilovers or maybe cooksports. But the way it drives I won't be changing the suspension.

DO NOT BUY JUST SPRINGS
There is a reason everyone on Minitorque says simply buy coilovers, the standard dampers cannot cope with any type of lowering, so simply hit the bump stops all the time (think Fiat 500 Abarth). Rich fitted eibachs to mine when he first got it, swiftly switched to FK coilovers, then to Meister R's, which are still on it 8 years later. Do it properly, once. If you ignore some of the boll0cks on MT, the background underlying info is very very good, literally everything has been tried on there at some point.

In terms of ride quality, the AP's are pretty soft, so will improve it if anything, especially if combined with non-run flats and removal of the standard 17's for something that weighs less than 3 tons per corner :)

Its entirely up to you naturally, but i think you'll be disappointed.

I've driven mine on springs on track (Llandow) & it was awful, understeer central, the ride on the road was poor and the suspension travel on Wales' bumpy roads was simply lacking. It was worse than on the OEM setup, which bar height, isnt that bad i dont think, at least the components have aged/are matched together. New harder springs & older soft dampers just isnt a combo that is any good for anyone.

Also, when the front strut pinch bolt snaps when you're onto the last corner of the car and you need to go off & buy a new hub, just to fit sh1tty springs, please remember me lol. They are stretch bolts btw, so dont what ever you do re-use them, or well, they'll snap!!

What is this R53 Addicts btw, i thought i was on all the Mini forums globally 😂 ...
AP's are fairly cheap from Orranje if you do change your mind btw: https://orranje.co.uk/mini-generati...oilovers-mini-r50-r52-r53-r55-r56-r57-r58-r59

Your mental

Your taking the advice of one person who's had these tein springs fitted which can't be that decent as I've never heard of them being mentioned on any mini forum normally HR or eibach are the go to options if HAS (it shouldn't be an option at all) to be springs, against pretty much the entire forum on minitorque and even Dave who has given you the best advice going!

Don't waste your money at all, you say money is tight then don't buy the springs! Its simple they will ruin the car. I've been in plenty of minis with every type of setup and even had eibachs on a R52 cooper and believe me there shocking, stock suspension just cannot handle it especially older shocks that have done a number of miles.

Mine's got Tein springs. Pretty bumpy ride and catches on everything. Lower strut brace doesn't like those small speed bumps.
