69k almost now. Once the winter is out the way i'm either going for a 250 (the "cheap" option ) or an Evo X if i'm going all out.

This thread makes me both want and not want a megane in equal measure.Fair play to you for having the dedication to see it though, most would have chucked the towel in long ago!

Cheers Ross.

Well 4 years on this time next week we will have parted company, and should be picking this contraversial number up.

Will most probably return to tin can ownership with a 250 in a couple of years when they've lost more of their depreciative value, just couldn't find one in the right spec at the moment so put it on hold.

Not a bad effort then, id have taken the lot if funds allowed!

Plans for the S3?

Im guessing you sold the rear lights? Or are they going with the car?

Lights and milltek are going with the car, can't be done with taking both of them off.

Plans, none really barring a few little odds and sods. Stripping the megane back to standard served as a great reminder as to why i'm not bothering with modding again. Maybe a cheeky remap in time possibly but it feels as quick as the megane ever was so no pressure as it doesn't feel like a "backwards" step.

Some facelight rear lights and cruise retrofit are the only things I have in mind at this moment really.

  1. It is not as much fun as the Megane was.
  2. Steering is as everybody complains about over weighted and rather numb, active self center is a nice feature though.
  3. Similar mpg to the Megane (if that bothers you)
  4. I love the 2.0 TFSi engine + K04, really doesn't behave how I though it would.
  5. 4wd is lovely even if its haldex, its not as bad as people make out if you appreciate how it works and how to work it to your benefit. Box is nice action too and geared for 180 with the limited removed and stage 2+.
  6. Didn't think i'd love the buckets as much as I do.
  7. People no longer give me the look of death/chav, the neighbours hate me less when I leave for work at 5am and the mrs neighbours no longer block me in with the bins when I park on the road outside their houses.
  8. I now understand why people bang on about interior quality in German stuff, really is night and day better.

Its a far better package than the Megane and much nicer to use day to day. Will probably give a 250/265 a good looking at again when the prices drop to circa £10k.
