i know how to do HDR i think but not sure if im doing it right.
one neuteral one high contrast one low contrast photoshop them together with the high n low contrast pictures 50% transparent....?

Nearly mate, you need to photograph the same image 3 times at different exposure values -2,0,+2 then use photomatrix or dynamic photo HDR to merge them together PS is a bit rubbish at doing this,

according to my mate who took the hdr's, sometimes you can use 6 or 7 photo's with different exposures to create the optimum image. not sure what program he uses, but its not photoshop, its a special HDR one.

Really like that last photo... was it taken in East Cowes? Looks like that slipway section but not too sure as i hardly ever drive over that way. Think we need to have an IOW meet sometime with people from the Island.. get some good photos as there is a lot of good landscapes over here.
