New 172 with problems :(

Bought a 172. Driving it home, done 70 miles ans literally at the end of my road it stalled, tried starting it and it sounded like a bag of nails. Pushed it home and realised top mount had split in 2 replaced it and still sounded awful, took battery off to check other mount and that was fine and for the one near the gearbox. Put battery back on and now the car turns over but doesn't fire. I can't hear the fuel pump priming and don't know what to do. HELP!!

thats sounds like wiring mate,is the red light flashing fast in middle of dash? if its on permenant or off it will be the wiring from battery to relay cable or relay

with the top mount split (im asuming you meen top engine mount) it would have caused really bad engine movment, could have trapped a wire or split a connector somwhere, i would be looking arround the coil pack under the engine cover, but its a long shot, could be worse, could be really simple.

Yeah o/s top engine mount. Light goes out when ignition is on, what could it be? Appreciate the help, thanks
