Ive just been reading the thread "What are you all chatin about?" and (although fundamentally irrelevant) this subject keeps going on and on and on!

There is obviously a huge amount of passion for the car that each person involved in these discussions owns which I feel is a fantastic thing for an owners club as its singing the praises of what this club stands for CLIOsport!!

However!

If this dispute is to be silenced (probably temporarily) surely the best thing for everyone would be a Clio only track day!

With classes for CUPS, WILLIAMS, VALVERS, 172s ect. If the lap times and performances of multiple owners of the different classes were averaged then there would have to emerge one true king Clio!

I say, let the battles commence………………………

thats what i was referring to as well.

And btw i was the third party in the 182 / Cup test race whatever you want to call it so i know exactly how equal both the cars are.

And a trackday is not about seeing whos car is the fastest, its about learning the limits of your car and bettering yourself as a driver.

You can have as much fun at a trackday in a metro as you can in a porsche, it just depands how comitted you are to learning lines, pushing the car and scaring the sh*t out of yourself.

Any idiot can turn up to a trackday in a formula 1 car be quickest round the track by miles, but yet they still will be 20 seconds off the pace of Schumacher, Villeneuve et all and what the car is capable off.

as far as im concerned any clio is part of the family to me be it ravos 1.2 prima to newmss v6 weve all got one thing in common! we are C L I O owners!!!!

Id like to track mine or least absolutly get it past its limit in some sort of safe enviroment with lots of safe run offs.

My insuracne allows none timed racing ie airfield days for free anyway and since its not got 166hp tyres and brakes should be fine.

hehe 1st off........we know pretty much how the cas line up in terms of fastest, as proven many many times at drag strips up n down the country, but evn hen thres all sorts of difrent mods etc on th cars

best way to do it properly is to put them into cats.

fastest 2.0 new shape

fastest n/a 2.0 new shape

fastest 2.0 ph1/2

fastest n/a 2.0 ph1/2

etc etc

then u can always do the track days to see which is quickest round the track and see how it finishes in the list compared to its 1/4 position..........

btw.....the fastest Williams category is already sewn up............by me............................hintin at the challengers
