Just a quick thought - possibly quite impressive for this time in the morning! - How about marking the seats with a UV Visible pen?? When reported stolen, make the police aware they've been marked with XYZ on the underside of the seat and the runners, so therefor if anymore do get stolen and then some appear on eBay or the likes it might make the chances of them being returned slightly better?
Obviously don't let everyone know what the markings are, but keep them safe somewhere - and tell the new owner should you decide to sell the car !
