To be honest, I'm thrusting into this without actually knowing what I'm doing or the repurcussions of doing so. I read up on things and dedicate time on decision making, but having not played Oblivion with Fallout 3 being my only fallback (although 280 hours of it), I feel I've maybe rushed a few leveling up choices in trying to even things out across the board.
I started out as a Nord, looking into the warrior style. I always wanted to be able to cast magic, but have the necessary combat firepower and armour to go with it.
So I chose the Warrior stone as my first perk through the Guardian Stones. Since then, from memory, my highest rated skills are as follows (rough guesses but there or there abouts) :
One Handed and Two Handed around 50 and 40 respectively.
Smithing 65
Sneak 96
Archery 68
Destruction 44
Lockpick 49
Light and Heavy Armour 40+
The rest are relatively low (maybe late 20's/30's) but I realise I can bump these up incredibly quickly through exploits (something I am swaying away from as it will also level up the world around me).
I've put a lot of my Perks into Archery and Sneak mainly, the rest I've spread around in areas I felt I would be using the most. I'm not doing too badly in all fairness. I've got a hell of a lot of quests to do, but I've also done my fair share too.
Two quests from completing the Thieves Guild faction (although yet to do any side quests there). I'm only just scratching the surface with the main quest, having just been to see the Greybeards. I'm still on with The Circle and Companions quests and haven't touched the Imperials or Dark Brotherhood yet. I've done quite a few main side quests and miscellaneous, but even saying that I have so many still active at the moment.
This game is going to keep me occupied for a long time. Really enjoying it though, and it's keeping Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12 at bay which I didn't think would be possible.
