[PC/XB360/PS3] The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim

No, but I've heard it's a very clever weapon and a lot of people have said it's their favourite. Purely just for the random nature of it.

I just made the mistake of trying to print the guide out

Trying to be a Jack of trades, Scutch? Focus man...your character must look like Wizadora's bodyguard

Are you all Mages?

Nah, I'm a sneaky archery type dude. Light armoured, massively specialised in archery and sneak. If the enemy gets close I'm in trouble. They rarely do though.

I just got given the Wabbajack and decided to test it out on the Whiterun guard - With interesting consequences. They all died in the end, though I ran out of charge and so had to finish them off in Werewolf guise.

Going more for the Wizbit look, TBH.

Nicely done.

Hardcore thievery/assassin > giant tin men or wizard sh*t.

sneak bonus damage ftw. Bit annoying though when you've got a companion helping you out and you shoot them in the back by accident lol. Instant death.

LOL just spotted Wizbit, what a s**t program that was

I'd be screwed without the sneak bonus damage. Love the cut scenes when I get up close and personal with my dagger for the x15 bonus.

The sneak appears to be a bit broken. When in a dungeon if I remain still I can have people walk right by. They can be literally right in front of me staring right at me and not see me. However out in the open folks seem to be able to spot me from half a mile away. That's when my hyper-aggressive rock climbing horse isn't charging into battle and giving me away. I rarely roll with a companion - They just get in the way.

To be honest, I'm thrusting into this without actually knowing what I'm doing or the repurcussions of doing so. I read up on things and dedicate time on decision making, but having not played Oblivion with Fallout 3 being my only fallback (although 280 hours of it), I feel I've maybe rushed a few leveling up choices in trying to even things out across the board.

I started out as a Nord, looking into the warrior style. I always wanted to be able to cast magic, but have the necessary combat firepower and armour to go with it.

So I chose the Warrior stone as my first perk through the Guardian Stones. Since then, from memory, my highest rated skills are as follows (rough guesses but there or there abouts) :

One Handed and Two Handed around 50 and 40 respectively.
Smithing 65
Sneak 96
Archery 68
Destruction 44
Lockpick 49
Light and Heavy Armour 40+

The rest are relatively low (maybe late 20's/30's) but I realise I can bump these up incredibly quickly through exploits (something I am swaying away from as it will also level up the world around me).

I've put a lot of my Perks into Archery and Sneak mainly, the rest I've spread around in areas I felt I would be using the most. I'm not doing too badly in all fairness. I've got a hell of a lot of quests to do, but I've also done my fair share too.

Two quests from completing the Thieves Guild faction (although yet to do any side quests there). I'm only just scratching the surface with the main quest, having just been to see the Greybeards. I'm still on with The Circle and Companions quests and haven't touched the Imperials or Dark Brotherhood yet. I've done quite a few main side quests and miscellaneous, but even saying that I have so many still active at the moment.

This game is going to keep me occupied for a long time. Really enjoying it though, and it's keeping Battlefield 3 and FIFA 12 at bay which I didn't think would be possible.

Wait until you're Lv45+

2x Legendary Daedric daggers with the 15x Sneak damage bonus. I think my daggers are 52 DAM each plus I get an extra 25% damage on top for dual wielding.

I can assassinate Ice Trolls in one hit.

I've played a fair bit of Oblivion so I'm vaguely familiar with it all but I'm still unsure on a lot. Basically I start off as a warrior or assassin type cos it's hard to go wrong with sticking arrows in people or hitting them with an axe. Once you're a bit more familiar you can start messing with s**t like alchemy and enchanting and then being a gay wizard type.

I've finished the thieves and companions missions but haven't messed with anything else - Just random bits of exploring, becoming Thane of 3 different towns, chasing some broken amulet all over the country etc etc.

If it's anything like Oblivion I'll live, eat and breathe the game for about a month then I will suddenly become bored of it and not touch it again for 6 months whereupon I'll start a new character. Rinse and repeat. It's a better game than Oblivion though, a lot more polished and immersive.

Heh, that's a ways off yet. I just hit 28 on Sunday evening. I'm still using all my Elven gear cos I can smith it to a higher standard than any of the dwarven, glass or ebony stuff. Currently trying to grind my way through the smithing levels so I can at least get some glass gear. After looking like a badass in the Nightingale get-up I'm now sick of looking like a bender in my effeminate Elven stuff.

Once you're Head of the Thieves' Guild you get the Guild Master armour.

Better than the Nightingale and you get a +50 bonus to your carry capacity.

I like the sound of that. What I don't like the sound of is giving that skeleton key back.

LOL. Yup. :(

Although, if you choose your Lockpick perks correctly, you can still get an unbreakable pick that way.

Really? I'm head of the thieves guild but haven't gotten the armour. Where do you get it from?

I had a bit of trouble with a bug in the finale though - The game sort of fucked up when I was talking to Nocturnal and I had to force an ending through the console. I got to choose another power but didn't get any loot.

And yeah, it was tough giving up the skeleton key but I'm sufficiently skilled to piss all but Master locks now anyway. I need to don my guild gloves and swig a potion before I can regularly crack a master lock.

Is that what that gold lockpick was!? LMAO. I really didn't know, I noticed it wouldn't break though. Bugger, I should of kept that

Panic averted, managed to knick my mums tv for a month. I can play skyrim again! Was actually livid last night when my tv broke. I don't think I've been into a game this much since mario when I was younger.

I made the mistake of starting a fight with a giant last night, it reset me to my last save point before I'd even hit the ground I flew that high up!

And you achieve this by doing all of Vex's missions and so on? Because I've done a fair few of her burglary jobs now and I'm starting to wonder when it will end. lol

I'd just like to add that after forcing myself to get back into it, I am no longer bored of it. It's awesome. I think I was just going through a bit of bad patch. Mostly through getting seven shades of s**t kicked out of me by anything and everything that I took on. Doing a bit better now. Also have enough cash to buy a house.

I'm level 12 after 28 hours. I'm guessing I probs shouldn't enter the Skyrim World Championships this year? :(

Yup. Been there. Maybe not bored, but certainly frustrated. Just needs a timeout. Epic game.

I never really had a problem of anyone kicking my face in, I'm level 18 now 31 hours in. The hardest people I've met have been the golden robotty thingys. Still managed to smash 3 of them on me. Dual welding 2 glass swords and the odd cheeky bow shot whilst in sneak mode seams to be dropping anything right now. I use the healing spell quite a bit though.
