[PC/XB360/PS3] The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim

Right, think this game is glitched...tried using the ivory claw (eagle, eagle, dragon) and door still won't open. Also doors being locked in towns when they shouldn't be is happening way more often.

Suppose it is testamenet to the game though that despite these ANNOYING glitches, I am still playing. More of a job than a game now though!

Too true LOL.

Found this video too, hopefully not a repost, only uploaded a few days ago.

Yep.

Some people put that into MW3, FFS.

At least I've got five houses filled with the finest goods that a sparse social life can buy.

Jelly?

Cold turkey? Withdrawal symptoms are a beast.

This is where I ask if you've been away doing something ridiculous and then feel like a pratt afterwards as you're actually terminal or something

It is now a race to finish the whole game before Mass Effect 3 arrives, personally I think I am going to struggle! I have only played about 3 hours of Xbox this week too, very disappointing. Need to put a shift in over the weekend for sure. Noticed my lockpick skill is still only 17...so weak in fact I don't think I can do any of the thief missions yet!

Lockpicking sucks balls.

Just when you think the locks going to open....boom...snaps. c**t.

Sorry I meant pickpocket not lockpicking...lockpicking is like 60+ or something. Not a fan of all these thief type skills!

Good luck trying to finish it.

I have Mass Effect 1 & 2 but haven't even played them yet

Finish it?!

Personally I think you'd need a good 150 hours to get all the main stuff done if you crack on and don't bugger about smithing stuff, arranging your displays in your house, randomly exploring etc. Unfortunately to do much of it you HAVE to do lots of random exploring. For that you're gonna need probably another 150 hours on top. At least.

Well I have done 90 hours so far, and probably about 10 of that was doing mininig, smithing and my particular favourite...streamlining my inventory!!! Also some bits where I have been wandering around aimlessly, can't find where I need to go...and just generally messing around. Another 90 hours or so sounds about right...

Elder dragons are the long ones...take a lot longer to take down and can do fairly massive damage too...not cool!

Ancient Dragons are the bad boys. Other than Alduin of course. Mind you, by the time you're facing them you'll be a baddass yourself so they're not too difficult.

I find the normal dragons you face in the early game the most difficult.

Speaking of dragons I have only come across this once.....

Was walking somewhere and noticed one flying overhead, thought to myself "il have that c**t" do followed him, he lands near some well and "speaks" into it and out of said well pops another dragon (with a name I can't remember) the original one fcuked off and I killed the new one.

Unfortunately just after that I got sneak attacked by a giant and died :( reloaded and tried to do the same but he wasnt there.

I did that one yesterday, was part of the main quest. The one that summons the other is Alduin, the main man. Unfortunately I did not know this at the time and tried shooting him. He turned and shouted at me and blew me about 500 yards. Instant death. After doing it again properly the other was quite easy. Probably encountered about 15 so far and they aren't much cop anymore.

Yeh dragons are easy after a while but give you some decent cash and the bones/scales are worth a bit to sell or make armour from. After 90 odd hours I should probably do a bit more of the main mission, it has been so long though since doing any I have pretty much forgotten what it is except some rubbish about dragons returning I think??!

I always have to drop one or two dragon bones as I've reached my weight limit most times :(

Really struggling one on particular quest, have to go into a Falmer cave and kill their leader. Mega hard.

Yeh earlier on in my career it was weird, go to one fight and win easily, go to another and get smashed. A couple of times I resorted to lowering the difficulty for the fight (if after several goes I couldn't do it) then increasing it afterwards. What character you playing as?

Redguard  Sometimes I go into fights fully armed, other times I use Necro robes and use magic, can never find the right mix, lol.

Only level 18 or so atm, weapons/armour isn't that good yet. Mainly use the Elven mace enchanted, 20 damage points plus frost damage, but never seems to be much use really :S

Best bet is to just stick with something for a while...e.g. 2 handed, or 1 handed and a shield, or 1 handed and a type of magic (destruction, conjuration or restoration etc) and level those for a while. Then later on start developing other skills out.

As for armour I think it is best to disenchant stuff and then put that enchantment onto light or heavy armour rather than robes as they offer pretty much no protection.

I rock about in arch mage's robes 90% of the time, then put daedric stuff on when things get a bit difficult.

Yeh unless you get more trader perks then you can only sell a few at a time, and probably end up like me with a massive inventory of them to store in your house or whatever. Best off making it into armour and enchanting it then selling it so you get some smithing and enchantment skill levelling too.

I've started enchanting my own gear now - I just buy ordinary clothes from a shop, enchant them and rock those. Looks smarter than the ordinary mages robes.

With all my enchantments I have 100% reduction in destruction magic costs (ie. I can cast destruction spells with no cost to my magicka). So I can just spam out the Incinerate/Thunderbolt indefinately. Or, slightly more dangerous but it looks epic - Cast the Master level electricity spell indefinately. Of course the down side to all this is that I'm as soft as s**t. Many enemies can kill me in a single hit. Including some of the archers - Which makes things REALLY difficult.

I'm also spectacularly feeble at any form of combat other than magic. In the mission for the Mace of Molag Bal it took me about 15 minutes to beat up the guy with the mace. He was just sat there as I pathetically waved the mace at him with my puny little arms.
