People smoked in my Car....

Last night i was at a house party and people decided to use my car as a cigarette shelter

as i am a non smoker, it absolutly stinks, I want to physically be sick!!

so can somebody recommend a good interior cleaning to get rid of the smell?

i would like to get it asap so i will nip to halfrauds tonight.

I had this happen to an old car of mine (well not used as a shelter lol) and even after steam cleaning the interior and roof twice, you could still smell it on sunny days!

I take it they are now walking round with steaks on their eyes? lol

It really p**sed me off,

i did lock my car but they found my keys in my coat pocket.

i might have to pay somebody to get rid of the smell (pro valeter e.t.c)

thing that has annoyed me the most is that my clothes smell of it, ive gone into work this morning smelling like an ashtray

halfords have that thing made by comma for cleaning air con systems, maybe just put your fan on and use this? just like an aerosol, place it behind the seat and let that car run the aircon/fan for 15 mins. made a significant diff to my mates car which was owned by a smoker. so you maybe lucky. cans about 12 quid or so.

I found a poduct from autoglym called "autofresh" it says it will remove the smell.

Has anyone tried this to remove the smell?

just been to motorworld and bought some "flash dash" and carplan interior cleaner,

i have rubbed down the dash board and used the interior cleaner on front two seats,

i am at work now, so i wont be back in the car until 5, so we will see if it works.

i hope so mind

My old expression turned up covered in dog hairs from a big f**k off alsation, and had been smoked in. let me tell you that in 2 years of having it i never managed to get rid of the smell.

If i were you id get a wet vac, like a VAX, the one with the hoze, and try doing that. Get an uphoulstry brush and lots and lots of car shampoo, you will need to wipe EVERYTHING down that you can and spray air freshener under everything and on everything.

Doubt you will get rid of the smell mate, sorry to hear it. Im a non smoker too and if i found someone smoking in my car, male or female, id kick the living s**t out of them.

...and dont leave ur keys where they can be got at...and why were you at a house party with your car there?

As crappy as it might sound, I'd give febreeze a shot. When I lived out at uni, I used to febreeze my clothes after a night out to get rid of the smell of smoke, worked a treat! Yes I was too lazy to wash my clothes all the time lol

BTW, always keep your keys on you. Never know if your "mates" want to go for a random drive and end up rolling it!

I have just had a call from the culprit and.......

he said he had 3 cigarettes, with the window down. so maybe it wont be that bad to get out, he had his hand out the window aswell when he was holding the cigarette.

i took the car because i went straight from work, so i didnt go home.

what i like to do after mysteriously obtaining a 'smoky' smell in the car is dual carriage way with the sun roof and windows open - fans on full. works every time as long as its not an ingrained smell.

well there is one thing in your favour... all these people ^ have bought cars that have been smoked/dogged in for a long time, and it takes awhile for the tar to permeate the fabric. your car just had it for one night, so id put money on it being alright in a couple of days

the culprits have smoked 3 tabs with the window down, the smoke did come back into the car, but when they werent puffing at it, the cigarette was out the window,

Works a treat, i do this all the time as i am a smoker an sometimes the smell just gets awful so have to have a blast with everything open. Failing that then as said try a vax an lots of air freshner, air con thing aswel

Got home last night and grabbed the oust out the toilet! and........

its worked!! My car smells like my toilet after ive been for a s**t but atleast it doesnt smell of smoke!!!!

lets just hope that it has got rid of it and not just masked it

Ozone cleaning will do the job. Have no idea what it will cost you though. It will eaven kill the smell in cars that have been smoken in for years.
