Philosophy on a Williams

Enjoying driving a Williams in a straight line is like eating fruit and expecting to taste meat. It can be done but only with strict mind control. This car will not fulfil its purpose in drag races. Its very nature is like a snake. Something that cannot be easily grasped by the uninitiated. To the observer it appears like any other car, and he will not comprehend its esence. It takes time and and knowledge to come to learn and master the Williams. Most cars are at their best when the burdon of expectation is not in the heart. But the Williams thrives on expectation. Each journey is an experience that exceeds the previous excitement. This car performs best not under the glare of the sodium street lights, but instead in the esoteric back lanes under illumination from the moon. Not best under gaze from men, but best under the watch of the stars. Not best on the hard tarmacadam of the highway, but on the loose gravel of the farm track. Fot the Williams has not followed in the tyre tracks of previous cars. No, the Williams has found an empty snow covered lane, and is leaving a trail for all other to follow.......

Translation; The williams is nice to drive.

i totally agree with you, but i must say that the willie also kicks ass in a straight line, and will do a 1/4 mile a lot of drivers dream of. cause you dont see the car very often alot of people dont know the car, and thats when the fun begins. since i drive it hasnt disappointed me at all, i have underestimated the power and handling of the car i can say now!

Sounds sad, but a major hook for getting me out of bed at 6.30am to go to work is the knowledge that I have ahead of me a 20-mile commute over some of Wales finest A & B-roads in my Valver. The morning air is typically cool and crisp - and only the old Valver and I are out there at that time of the day to enjoy it. Brill.

Ive been doing lots of miles in the car recently and the sight of a mint Valver/Willy never ceases to draw waves from kids, nods of respect from the townies and looks of amazement from more modern "hot hatche" drivers trailing in our wake. I am at one with the F7P!

Whether or not the damn thing will start or not is a different matter though!
