Some very lucky boys me thinks.

Those of you that are motorcyclists probably already knew it but those that arent should learn the lesson from this - dont overtake on single carriageway when there are junctions around.

Cars coming to a main road from a side road and wanting to turn left (or right on the continent) will only look right (or left on the continent) before pulling out as they dont expect something to be coming along on the wrong side of the road.

(Theres always one self-righteous one isnt there!)

Well maybe rather than suggesting that all drivers stay behind the slow moving car and waste their day in case some numpty cant look at a junction, perhaps we should be reminding those approaching GIVE WAY signs to look both ways, and abide by the sign in front of them.

Sorry I was just trying to prevent you from dying or worse ending up in wheel chair!

I spoke up because like most young men you were all too concerned with who was to blame and who had right of way etc.

At the end of the day you can educate, remind and warn people as much as you like but they will still pull out without looking. People have been pulling out of junctions when they shouldnt for years and that will never change.

With that knowledge in mind its down to you to avoid being killed by one of these chavs.

Id rather waste 10 minutes behind a slow moving vehicle (in this case 100mph was required to overtake the "slow" moving vehicle) than waste my whole life on an overtake that in the great scheme of things is not important.

Glad you all got back in one piece unlike the bloke from my work that went over to France a few weeks back and will never be coming home.

I like the sticker 69 on the blue cup in the bottom pic.I guess that was just for the trip?

Yeah, the 69 on the doors and the France Cliosport 2004 sticker on the bonnet was just for the trip, but after the rear end of my car has been repaired, I may consider leaving it on, as it adds to the sportiness of the car, and plenty of people commented on it.

As for the right of way issue on the crash, after a lot of discussion with the Gendarme who attended, he was very concerned we make note of the GIVE WAY sign, as he said "Its 50:50 to a degree, but the French driver should have looked both ways before coming out, so the insurance should decide in favour of the V6".

Also, Steve is in his 30s (I believe), and is married with a very young baby; he is not a wreckless "young man".

His first concern after checking his brother-in-law was for the French lads in the other car.

However, the fact that there were no injuries in such an accident, is testament to what a fine car the Clio is, for all its little rattles and pops.

Yes must agree I do like the sticker,do you have a close up of it? where did you get it from? do you think this would look good on silver? I wanna go Gumball Style!

but what a holiday. And i would just like to add that nobody has the right to coment on what is right and what is wrong, because i am definatly not one of the most insane drivers that are members of this site, but when you have been driving for 24 hours and you are nearly at your destination on quiet country roads like this, all sense is just out of the window and you are running on pure addrenaline.

Yeah, the Vee doesnt look "that bad" so is there more damage we cant see?

Lee, take a look at how far back in the arch the wheel has gone:eek:

Good work Scott, post the pic of the kink in the roof fella, and thanks for the pics you sent me!

that kinked roof will probably kill it off. my sympathy to everybody though as its not nice at the end of the day especially when its not your fault.
