Finished polishing my fuel rail guard today after losing interest and fingerprints a couple of months ago. Just need to finish the plenum and then get the engine cover back from the painter.
Certainly wouldn't recommend this to anyone to try doing this themselves if they haven't got several hours to spare and hard fingertips.
Started with 400 grit wet and dry, then 800 grit and final of 1200 grit to get round of small scratches and then final wet 1200. All of these were by hand. Then polished with dremel with polishing attachment and rubbing compound. Final polish with solvol autosol. I guess it took about 4 hours.
