Power Tool Perverts

I'm looking to replace my Snap-On 1/2 impact gun with something Makita... Or even DeWalt. The Snap on guns are limited with a 4aH battery which are quite frankly shite compared to a Milwaukee/DeWalt/Makita 6aH 18v. My dad has a DeWalt impact driver a drill which have sen 4 years of abuse and still run like new

Can anyone recommend me a decent gun/deal as I'll probably want a 1/2 impact, 3/8 impact, impact driver and a new combi drill too... Maybe even an SDS and a grinder because why the f**k not. Oh and brushless earns you bonus points too <3

Cheers

Don’t know about dewalt ect but I’ve abused my wilfookies at work daily for 3 years and they’ve never stopped working , even dropped my 1/2 gun from high up and it survived ( battery fell apart but still works lol )

usually see them come up onsale at euros/ toolstation as a kit for decent coin

  Whichever has fuel
We have a dewalt impact gun (with the biggest battery they do) at work for taking wheels on and off and to be honest, it’s way too powerful for that. Can snap a wheel bolt off piece of piss, We tried it on a scrapper.

Either of the big brands will be decent I’d go Milwaukee personally given the choice.

I've not got the coin for that tackle @Dr HMS Derv Destroyer 😂 I'm only a part-time Romanian tyre fitter...

@Daniel is that the 20v 8aH big b*****d? A mate of mine has one and I felt like my wrist was gonna give way removing a transit wheel😂😂

@Archtronics if you're paying then I insist ;)

Oh I’ve only got one piece of Milwaukee kit(impact wrench), the rest is a mix of Ryobi, Sealey other budget stuff etc.

Milwaukee is fantastic quality but a complete waste of money for weekend warriors unless your loaded in my opinion.

Yeah I cant see myself buying Milwaukee yet as I'm too tight😂 Snap-On are alright but their power tools are s**t compared to other brands

Got the DeWalt DCF899 at home. So far been a great bit of kit with plenty of torque. its a big old lump though. 😅
This Snap-on one I've got atm weight a metric f**k tonne😂😂

What's the impact going to be used for ? and how often will it be used ?
Load of stuff mate

Gearboxes, engines, wheel bolts, rear axles, the occasional van wheel, whatever you can throw at a gun. It just won't be used every single day. I 100% know I want a 3/8 gun for doing boxes because this 1/2 is a right fucker for doing some jobs

These are just for my home use so no hardcore garage use but I fully recommend the 1/2 inch Bluetooth jobby. It's ridiculously powerful and you can change the torque and speeds from your phone. It is an utter beast.

Got the 3/8 stubby too which i use the most I'd say. Can deliver many many torques for the size too. Wheel nuts are a piece of piss etc.

The drill is powerful too I'd fully recommend that if you're upgrading your drill too. Has Bluetooth too so you can choose your speeds etc but that's a little pointless imo.

Stubby shown for size.

Don't know anything about them, but the project binky guys use kielder impacts on the Escargot, so can't be too bad 🤷‍♂️
Yeah they look good but not mainstream enough for me

I want to buy 1 brand so I don't have to mess about with batteries. At the minute I don't have 1 single brand that shares a pissing battery and I'm sick of buying 2 batteries for each chuffing bit of tackle haha

@dann2707 but you're a rich sod ;)

I think that milwaukee are just really killing it with new tools released and they're super durable too.

They come with a 3 year warranty as standard.

Their tools are boss but I don't have that sort of money... Well, I do but it would f**king hurt me inside to pay their prices when a DeWalt/Makita/Ryobi will do the exact same

Get a DeWalt and rob your dad's batteries.
We already share tools anyway 😂

I have the dewalt dcf899 and it has plenty of poke. I have damaged mine somehow though as the impact mechanism is noisy on it now, i think it was when i tried to undo a bolt that was tight as feck and rattled it for ages. Bit disappointing to be fair its not had tons of use as only occasional use at home. Batteries last forever on It.

If i was to buy again id prob go milwaukee though.

Spent all night looking at Milwaukee tools and pricing everything up. I was surpised there wasn't much in it compared to the Makita stuff tbh

I mean I guess red is my favorite colour... 😂

Milwaukee all day long had 2 dewalt impact guns at work as above link both lasted less that 6 months snapped drives!
Dewalts warranty was s**t too didn't want to know!!
Now had a Milwaukee for 2 years bomb proof it is an way less expensive!

Touch wood (giggity), my Makita gear has been good as gold so far.

After getting one of their cordless drills for a good deal few years back, I ended up adding to my Makita arsenal. Now I have an impact gun, garden strimmer and chainsaw (dual 5mah battery mother truckers).

All the electric tools you'll need IMO.. Keep them in the boxes and you can just throw them into the pit car for track days..

You've clearly underestimated my bodgery if you think that's enough power tools😂

Just pick up a drill without a battery for £60 job done shouldn’t need anything more than that?
That £1200 is this lot

I'm currently waiting an eBay 10-20% off code to order it as I know this seller usually has these offers on😂 20% brings it down to just a smidge over £900
