 The cage looks mint, you planning on leaving the large battery in till we get the new engine in and everything wired up correctly/nicely?

Hope the new seat comes in time to

Awesome work Carl, cage came out really well after the welding!

What seat is the passenger (adrian :rasp:) getting?

  B/G 182 + PH1 Track
We have the same seat on order for the passanger side.

If i can not get in i will be taking Carls Focus RS out at Croft i think.

you fabrficate the doorcards up yourself? powdercoated or painted?
look very neat

Custom made by a fabricator who works for my dads mate. They have been painted but could have easily been powdercoated :)

very interested in them, may be picking your brains / going over the thread with a fine tooth comb in the near future

No worries mate. If you look back in the thread you will see my other door cards. Those will be for sale soon. They are alittle bit heavier and would come with cup racer door handle spacers

What is the reason for the heated screen? To demist in the winter?

Sorry for the noob sounding question!

Car is looking amazing... It's a bit more than just a stripped out track toy!!!!! I bet it's a great laugh to drive!

We probably wont go for one due to the cost, we will go through screens alot quicker than the norm. Car only ran for 45mins at Brands and already has a chip. Standard one cost us £100 fitted, was just wondering what the heated ones cost by comparision. Another Clio we race against was after one at one stage

We kept the heater for rainy days.

tbh the heated screens wernt too bad. first one we had only worked on one side though, luckally driver side.

they deliver them in a cardboard box so its lucky if you get one in one piece.

very very good quality though. and worked a treat in the snow :D

on another note, i cannot understand the front bit of the cage. its the most un ergonomic cage i have seen in a clio. looks a nightmare to get in and it makes the dash sit weird. do not like. apart from that the rest of it looks spot on. still that gash exhaust???

i can see it being an arse getting in and out loads on a track day.

its hard enough getting in the 206 with its door bars but barron bro's ph1 looks propper awkward.

you can see they can be alot lower

Carl wanted it to be a copy of a cup racer cage.

Taken from Hughesclios's thread

That is a cup racer cage, ours is exaclty the same, apart from we dont have the bar behind the seats.

Also

We dont care if it makes fitting a dash awkward because the dash is not going back in.

The Bar will be used to mount the RACE2 dash and it is the perfect height.
