Removing Rear Seats.

I'm considering taking the back seats out so that my
German Shepard has more room to move,

will I need some form of strut brace in the boot,
or are they a waste of time & money?

(Sorry if this is a dumb question.)

naa leave them in, you can leave the bar in place but it dosent make a difference in handling, the weight loss improves everything. Only problem is the floor after the seats has been taken out isnt flat and its full of metal catches that will hurt your dog, girlfriends also says its illegal for a dog (works with RSPCA)

they have to be secured with either a dog harness or a cage, if a doga just jumping in the back of your car then the cops can pull you over for it

Ah right,

Looks like i'll be buying him a cage then.

Not sure how im going to get him in the back
when the boots full of stuff though.

I guess I'll figure it out some how.

Thanks for your advice. (oh and your girlfriends)

I do have one of those harneses but he gets
really tangled up in the seat belt and starts crying
when he trys to re-adjust himself.

Do you know of any other way of securing the harness,
or is it purely designed for a seatbelt to go through it.

ps
(what kind of dog do you have?)

Iv got an RAC harness, had a few other that got tangled but this is the best by far. Girlfriends says they have to get used to it even if it takes 6 month

My dog sits in the back or front perfectly happy as long as he can see where he's going!

I pity any person who ties to fit a harness or put my dog in a cage.... he wont have any of it! not even from me!

My dog might be the same as yours, he can get well @rsey.
I might try and get one of those mesh grills that separates the
frount from the back, just not sure how he's gonna get in the
back with it in the way.

Tbh a GSD is a bit bigger than my border collie, altho my dog has put the frighteners on a few people with his arsey "im not going to do as you say" attitude when he hi-jacked a bus...

Collies are to clever in my experiance, they remember
the mistakes you make when training them and then
continue to do it wrong just to annoy you.

a GSD is only clever up to a point,
then they look at you as if to say "what do I do now?"

Good fun though.

Yes they are far too intelligent for their own good, after we rescued him off the bus he'd just hi-jacked he then escaped again and i found him hiding behind the same bus stop waiting for the next one... Git!
He kept escaping out of the back garden and we could not work out where, we couldnt find any holes we thought were big enough for him, only rabbit size ones, but sure enough he squeezed through them!

I think i should write a book on my dog!
