Renault 5 GTL

Im a part time mechanic for a Renault 5 1300cc GTL, It races in the Classic touring car championship,

Its had the usual stuff done, CAM work valves/springs, webber carbs, exhaust system (Or lack of it..) and tripod suspension and upgraded clutch/Flywheel.

It will easily keep up with the 2.8 capris because its so lightweight, I think thats why they spend half the time on there roof..

Since that race meet at Snneterton its been on its roof at Brands Hatch!

Looking good! are those the standard 135/R13 steelies i spy?

Surely not if it goes on the track!

They are the standard wheels yeah! lol

Its runnin 185 tyres, so the inner wings needed some adjustment with a persuation tool!

Its it tops out at about 100 on the straight at snneterton and absolutly thrashes the capris and rover SD1s from standstill.

For an old engine its very strong and will REV to 7500 no probs....
