Couldn't say for sure as its around 5 yrs old now, if it did i don't know where they went:eek:
Will probably go with a new HDD and OS and take the lost data as a painful lesson:(
Original HD was a Western digital WD2500, can I replace it with anything as long as its SATA?

Plug the HDD into another PC 1st and see if it see's it
House is full of laptops only, this is/was the only PC.
Will buy new and try pluging it in then as a slave to see if I can salvage anything.

If you buy a new hdd just install the os on that drive, once your into windows you should see your other drive with all the data if it's still working.

Also if you hdd's are SATA then you wont have to piss about with master and slave, thats the older IDE interface.
