Scott's Super Clean PH1 172 Project Thread

Might want to get some cv boot ties for those mate, if I'm looking right , you've used plastic ones?

Either that or I need to go specsavers :o

LOL yes correct :o

though of using jubilee (sp) clips?
Ive wrapped a Mondeo tdci decat pipe up before and used jubi's to hold it all together :)

might be a bodged look but function over style down the back of the engine :)

I was thinking about s/s lock wire, the tie wraps ive seen on Tweeks site are a fortune.

That should work, used locking wire on house fuse boards after I've changed the DB.
Bloody strong stuff when twisted together

A little bit more on your head, All the inlet ports and now done and finished, Been working on a Ford 2.3 head for Mosley's Garage so i've been taking my time with Scotts but he doesn't mind as we are still waiting for the valves

Get the jubilees

The straps aren't any good and can't be reused if required.

Ive ordered more of the wrap and ive gone for stainless steel 0.8 locking wire and pliers, that way you won't see the wire and i can do any length i need. :D
ALD them pictures have made me do a little bit of a wee.

Looks bloody lovely mate, keep up with the epic work. :D

OOOoooo If I hadn't just blown money on paintwork I could've had headwork and oversized valves in :(

Looks cracking, hopefully there's a noticeable difference!

Yep thats the one....;)

Brilliant headwork that!

Thanks mate. :)

Ooooo, love abit of porting . Would love to do something like that but I don't want to scrap my spare dci head up :(

remember seeing Someone on TDOCUK, do an xud9 head way overboard to the point the inlets looked like chrome lol

Highly polished on the inlets is very bad. Not good for fuel atomisation

might get away with it on a diesel tho. direct injection with forced air.

not indirect with fuel air mixing in the inlet.

wrong or not? i havent a clue when it comes to porting lol

Some people polish to stop carbon build up. Carbon will build up on any surface no matter how smooth it is.

I havent posted in here as yet but been reading this project every step of the way.

Credit to your dedication on this Scott, looks superb!

Nice head work from ALD to.

Thank you very much mate.

Just looking forward to driving it again. :)

Glad to hear you'll actually drive it and not wrap it up in cotton wool ;)

Its by no means a show car matey, just a nice clean ph1.

I enjoy doing the work tbh, gets me out from under my wife's feet.

Wilkinsons sell galvanized garden wire, I just used that to tie the ends, metal tie wraps were a bit pricey.

I bought the metal tie wraps but couldn't get them to work very well. :(
Ive now got stainless steel lock wire which I think should do the trick. :D

Are you just getting it ported and polished so its clean there too?!

Does look superb though!

Yes mate, taking my OCD to a whole new level. ;)

Cheers John.
