Difference is, Fred is a one man band who is obviously incredibly busy. Possibly too busy for his own good but there is no doubt about it, he is one of the best Renault tuners out there.
Putting things into some perspective, he has offered a 'free' pulley to help you out Scott but if it comes down to letting a paying customer down or a favour for someone then he is quite right to choose the paying one. His only fault is saying he would send it in the first place but I don't think that permits him being bad mouthed on here and certainly not being compared to a mail order shop in the name of ktec.
I would stop grumbling and try and source another pulley.
My bottom end is skimmed and decked and the head has also been skimmed. I managed to use all the standard pulleys and the tensioning marks lined up fine.
Hope you get sorted soon and understand your frustration but draw a line and move on would be my advice.
wow! Just wow!!!!
Are you being serious with this post??
Why wouldn't I be?? Cause it is different to your point of view?
Amazing build the attention to detail is awesome, just spent about an hour looking threw all 46 pages. can't wait to see it finished.
Shame your being messed about by one of the supposed top specialists on here with a good rep, hope u get it sorted mate.
This must be why Renault say not to skim heads.
I've had the block and head skimmed on my forged engine build... hope I don't face similar issues now!
How far are the marks from lining up?
Best of luck Scott. I ordered a yozza from fred when I had my 200. Needless to say a couple of months later I bought a Ktec system instead as it never happened. Took Ktec 2 days to deliver for a comparison!
Did he know that you was driving up there to get it?
Looking as good as ever Scott
Regardless if it was announce or not, he was told on Monday that it had been sent out. That means it would of been sent out Monday before Scott arrived, or Thursday/Friday/Saturday of the previous week. Still no sign of said part or tracking number.
Just stunning. A great read
Phase1sr Guess you're sorted now.
Or busy, weekends is kids time for some..
Nah it's all sorted. That's all. He's happy messing about with shiney parts AGAIN
Don't know if this is any use but found an idler I had off a Subaru. It is 60mm OD and 35mm wide with a 10mm ID.
Came off an engine I had with 5k on it that I was stripping. Let me know if you want me to post it tomorrow.
Or doesn't want a used idler on his fresh rebuilt engine....
I wouldn't.

I'm fairly certain Andy cutler doesn't make the parts himself. Just sub contracts the work out.
Awesome work, and will be brilliant when you can get it back on the road, shame about being messed about!
One thing i cannot stand is that!
So what pulley did you use for other people's reference in the future.
Good to see my old cams going I good use man , hope u get ur pully sorted ASAP
The Andy cutler from ktec who used to do the mapping???
If so i wouldn't let him wash my wheels let alone work on my car.
Thank you very much for taking the time to try and help me out mate, its all sorted now.
Used to? Never heard that he'd moved on.
No worries mate, even if you wanted to try this one before buying one at £30 and realising it was too big. The offer is there and could be posted tomorrow. Glad you're sorted now though.
Disgustingly clean. Keep it up, this going to be on the road for the south end meet?

Yes that what i would have done with it tbh, but thanks again in trying to help me out. :approve:
The very person...
No probs mate, glad it all worked out in the end.
Love the cleanliness of everything. Wish I had the time and patience to give mine that attention to detail.
Great news glad you can now make progress.. Cant wait. .
Fingers and toes crossed mate. ..
