That was kind of the idea. If you have to use your car for commuting etc as well as trackdays then its nice to have an exhaust thats not overly loud but still gives a good note. Loud exhausts can get very tiresome.
As you maybe beginning to understand with these threads, the majority of people are not driven by quality, they want value for money. If this wasn't the case, we'd be driving BMWs, not Renaults!
Likewise, most people on here like loud exhausts. Is there no way you could do a quiet and loud version?
I am in full support of what you are doing, BTB are great and i fully understand workmanship costs. I am concerned you didn't actually do enough research in the first place to make the project a success though.
Personally i would of gone for a V6 as the first car. You can't not make a V6 sound good, which will give a good impression to 2.0 owners. Naturally owners of Vees will be more affluent and be prepared to pay for the best too.
Yeah, because there's lots of Vee owners out there! There has been before and after RR tests, these were available to see at FCS and were stuck to the back of the car. I'll see if we can get it scanned in toady and post it up later.
Our intention has never been to sell loads of these exhausts, they are for the people out there who want the best for their car and at £595 i think most people will agree that its excellent value for money (more so with all the extras included in the price) even if they can't afford it themselves.
There are quite a few people out there who own 182's not because its the best they can afford but because its one of the best cars available in terms of driver enjoyment and involvement.
cliobuyer - just to add to what joe has said, yes we did research, otherwise we wouldnt of pumped nearly 2k into the development of this exhaust.
as said, we know not everyone has that sort of money to spend on an exhaust, but the few (which seem to be growing day by day) that want the best, premium quality products, can, through us.
And just on a side note, the only BMW i would swap my 182 for is a M3 CSL, and i cant see that happening very soon!
Surly the exhaust been quiete is a bonus they dont sound nice with loud exhausts i dont care what anyone says,i seen there 182 on track at fcs and did seem to go very well for the mods it has
Well, Mat lives in Tangmere, soon to be Bognor and I live in Barnham. We'll have a word with btb find out costs, workshop time etc.. and then we'll let you know complete with a heavily discounted price. Hope fully they won't need it too long as they can hopefully use most of the 182 system. Do you have the std manifold or a 182 manifold?
From home for the moment until we get up and running as we both have other work commitments. When the business takes off we'll start looking for dedicated premises but for now we're pretty well equipped between the pair of us.
Obviously we'd like you to be without your car for the shortest time possible.
nice one, well as soon as you would want to get started on anything for the 172 then let me know, im 100% up for it. you can also email me on richisbradders@hotmail.com or ring me pm me for my number if you want it.
