This forum is amazing for it.

Look in the cars for sale section! Its rammed with over priced cars. (Some comically so!) Yet when a newbie posts sayin ''Just bought a 182 for £5500'' all the CS lot slate him telling him they could have bought one a lot cheaper!

You can't win!

Them 2 in the OP are just stupid though, I cant understand the 1st one abit as they have done some things to it, so may want to get back some £ they have sunk in, but the 2nd is standard...

The 6.5k BG 182 that was for sale recently was my personal favourite.

My missus almost spunked £1995 on an S reg Peugeot 1.4 Lx today.

Is mine really only worth £1000 (max) more!?! Mental.

I pointed out that £1500 MAX is what she should be looking at paying for a 1.4 S reg with about 70K last night.

She still wanted to go and get this one. NO Tax, Cambelt needed doing and he was only giving her £100 for her current Fiesta.

Woman,.

Ps...serious question am I being realistic with wanting £2800 for mine??

imo as a general rule id say:-

Ph1s - £700 (totally shagged W reg)- £3000 (mint circa 60k mile Y reg in a rare colour)
mk2 172s - £1000 (totally raped Y reg/ 51 reg with no history - cambelt)- £4250 (mildly modified, good condition, FRSH and immaculate 53/04 reg with low miles)
cups - £1500 (Cat c/d shed)- £4500 - (low mile, good service history and mint confition)
182s with packs - £1750 (complete bucket and no history 100k+ miles, auction special) - £5250 (late 55 regger with low miles and FRSH, immaculate and spotless in a good colour (petrol/ liquid add £500-750)
Trophys - £2500 (that 167k one?!?! or cat c/d + £500) - £6000 (mint late 55 reg with low miles and FRSH and all invoices, receipts, spotless)

If a car is modified it depends what people will think, if with 4 pots, cams, spoilers, splitters, alloys, decats, air intakes, stickers, seats and exhausts its as usual personal preference so probably best punting 2nd hand.

all based on condition and rarity, however majority will be ragged to death, badly maintained and probably quite tatty.

If a gem appears its usually worth the premium. Lets face it though the RS Clio standard 172/182 range is hardly the pinnacle of motoring are mega desirable, so always going to be major fluctuations in pricing.

Only limited run cars will command a better premium, ie the trophy, 172 cup and R27 etc.

I just got £5550 for mine after about 5 days on Autotrader. If your write up is good with good pics and it's not well over the top price wise it's going to sell.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
I did have a chuckle at that one.

Why people think any 182 is worth more than £4500 is beyond me.

LOL post- We may as well throw a trophy in at that price or a low mileage LY 182-

Decent cars still fetch decent prices --
Top notch 182 in a rare colour will go over 6k-

I got just under 8 for a rare colour just 4 months ago-

182 top end price is to low--- although if its private it may not be to far out..

Dealers prices don't count. It's the only way people can afford it is through finance so they'll pay 8k for a 182 in BG or something silly!
