Smoke/vapour coming from vents...

  Clio Sport 182
Hi! I am new to writing posts so hopefully I am doing this right?! My name is Soph and I have a Clio 182. This site has been a god send to me over the past three years with the various repairs that have been needed!!! Fingers crossed someone can help me with this...

The past week or so I've noticed a thin, whitish vapour coming from the a/c vents. It doesn't smell of anything, no burning, etc. I have had my aircon on quite cold (summer has finally arrived!) and it always happens in the same place on my drive to work, about 2 minutes after I have come off a fast road and slowed to 40mph ish, whilst exiting an island on a left hand bend. All levels are good.

Any ideas?

Hi Soph welcome to the forum.

Do you notice any smell from the aircon other than this smoke? I seem to remember a topic a while back with another user having the same problem and it turned out to be a split house in the engine bay leaking onto the hot manifold that was causing the vapour. Might be worth having a look for something similar.

Hey there :) Thanks for your response... I will have a look to see if this might be the case.

The other day when it happened I thought I could smell something, really difficult to describe though. It was like a 'fresh' smell, if that makes any sense?! A bit sweet. Also I've noticed if I switch the climate control off, my windscreen starts misting up in random patterns. There is still really hot air coming through the windscreen vent, so I'm wondering if the two could be connected??

Oh the fun and games!!
