Sneek Peek - AP Racing 4 Pot Clio 182 Kit

Well it's arrived, put into development in Dec 2007, I wanted the red calipers so have had to wait this long for them as they were special order. But im glad i did as the look a lot better then the black ones!

I was developed using a speedline 2118 15 inch wheel. Perfect for all you trackdayers!

Awesome Dave :) well done mate. I might be having to purchase a set of those soon ready for my few ring trips ive got planned :) :)

What first hand experience do you have of these s**t other 4 pots??

the AP's still aint a monoblock calliper, so why would it flex any less than other callipers (which is what i have spotted you spouting on about in other threads)

Whilst these are more than likely the best currently available for the clio, they are also twice the price of Wilwoods, Compbrake etc.

but anywho, i am saving my pennies!

using a monoblock caliper would have been nice ... but would probably cost a lot more, might not have fit behind the 15's and probably wouldnt have had as much pad choice.... but i might look into it just for fun!

I had a compbrake kit for about a week in august, never fitted it, needed to sell it, but it looked very good, iv heard good things about it (other than the brake lines) I would have the compbrakes if i didnt find someone to make this kit.

My friend had willwoods on his pug and had no end of problems with them. I had hi spec 6 pots and could never get a solid pedal on my impreza. AP is they way forward. cant do better. Like they always say. You get what u pay for which is why there more expensive!!!

I'd be interested to know;

Pad choice
Cost of disc replacement
Parts required for disc replacement (do you need to change the bolts?)
Possibility of Carbon/Ceramic Disc/pad fitment?

Are extra valves needed like some of the compbrake setups on CS?

Oh and as a side note have you discussed 1*2 clutch development?

^^ most of those details will be up soon, i need to get the kit fitted etc dont think extra valves are needed.

I was planning to ask about a clutch

they look awesome m8 and AP calipers are the best money can buy you don't see any race teams in the touring cars using any other manufactures than AP i have seen a rear set of performance friction calipers on the back of the BMW that mat jackson drives but they are on a budget
