Stevo's 200T + MK2

Thought I'd make a thread here to save posting loads on the New Members section...

Basically back in September 2013 I traded in my '13 BMW 1 Series M Sport Coupe for my 2010 Clio 200 in GW obviously with the cup chassis ect..

Bought a ITG panel filter followed by a Scorpion non res cat back and decat... sounded amazing. Then the flat spot was horrendous so I took it to Paul at RS Tuning and had it mapped, drove quite nicely after that.

I kept that until March this year and a week before I was due to go out to the Nurburgring I swapped it for my '13 200T with every option ticked..

Heres a pick from Germany a few days after I picked it up with my mates 265 Trophy (314bhp, pretty rapid)

Have had the 200T mapped too now at by Paul, is now running 231bhp/345nm (255lbft). Really happy with the car now.. although it desperately needs lowering as the permanently look like they are driving up a hill -_-

I'm not on the hunt for a 172 or 182 to run along side the T. Was going to look a 182 but the guy is mucking around so he can shove it lol.. going to look a 172 on Saturday and will probably buy it tbh so fingers crossed.

Its alright lol.. Sorry wasnt to clear, Paul owns RS Tuning in Leeds.

Chalk and cheese mate... Absolutely transformed the car, love it now.. How it should have been from the factory imo..

Defiantly worth it and mine was free as I was the first one to have it done :D

Looks really nice to me.
63000 miles..
Cambelt and water pump done at the beginning of this month..
MOT until March 2015 with no advisories..

Only things I noticed are just normal age related things..
- Slight steering wheel wear, will get it re-trimmed or a 200 wheel for it
- Few marks on interior plastics, just replace them too
- Foggy headlight lenses, seen a few posts about the 3M kit for this
- Scratches on the wheels, they will be coming off and probably kept as track or winter wheels as I have a friend who can get the a new set of 2118's for about £450ish.

Thoughts?

No mate, a mate just said as long as they are done by a respectable garage with receipts ect.

Guess depends on who the garage is? Just usual checks really as you know they are pretty good cars. Have you got someone who knows a bit about cars? Not saying you don't btw. Will he budge on price? What's the plan with the car?

Okay mate.. Yeah I work for F1 so I'm sure I can take someone with some 'know' along lol.
It was up on his site for £2500 and now reduced to £2000, thought it was a decent price as it is but worth a try yeah.

I dont want to go too mad with it but idealy..
- Front bucket seats
- Coilovers
- Speedline 2118 and a set of nice grippy tyres
- Full powerflex polybush kit
- stealth exhaust maybe with a de-cat
- Probably change the H/U and speakers too.

Pretty much it at the moment.

Looks like a nice car. As above, further investigation needed surrounding the cambelt change. It's a specialist job so really you want an invoice from a specialist. If the proper tools haven't been used, it will be wrong!

It's also worth doing some research on dephaser pulleys (if you haven't already), they have a tendency to rattle and make a 'diesel-like' noise below circa 1,500rpm once the engine is up to temp. Have a listen to some videos on YouTube so you know what to look out for.

If you have concerns about the cambelt having been done properly and/or a noisy dephaser, typically your looking at £600-£650 to get it redone.

Otherwise, just carry out the normal checks, most things will be cheap and easy to sort.

Sweet. I'm going to look at one of these in a few years when the audi finally croaks.

I would recommend them tbh, and that coming from a older 200 too.

I'd also say the map is a must as my mates Mountune ST pulled a fair amount on the standard car, his is running 207bhp after the mountune upgrade.

Now I'm running 231bhp its a different story lol.

Havent updated this for a while..

Decided against going for a MK2 as a 2nd car, as I was offered a new job within F1 at the start of December and will be traveling to near enough all the races so thought it would be pointless to have 2 cars sitting getting dusty through the year...

Not sure on what I want to do now tbh, go abit crazy with the 200T or replace it with something else.. Was looking at a pre-reg S3 before Christmas but pulled out as it was more of an impulse buy if I'm honest.

Any suggestions would be nice as I have no idea what I was at the moment! Has to be around 300bhp or easy to achieve that power, not that fussed on fuel as it won't be moving to much. I would look at a C63 but even with minimum yearly milage the insurance companies still ruin me being 22.

Anyways washed the T today after 3 months of it being disowned, did it with a mate who has a Meg 265 Trophy..

Thanks! Map has been go so far, covered over 5k with the map now with no issues at all. Happy with it, only downside was a drop in economy but tbf we dont exactly buy these for fuel economy do we..

Handling the power has seemed fine too, with the extra torque you get a bit more wheel spin to start with when really booting but nothing too bad.
