Sunstrip - Sensor?

  Clio dci 80 2005
After a good search, it seems like sunstrips are not the 'in thing'... However, im getting annoyed of the low sun, and no matter where the sunvisors are, the sun seems to creep through to blind me.

Im planning on fitting an external black sunstrip to my black 2005 dci 80, but im worried about the sensor on the screen as i was told it was for both the auto wipers and headlight sensors.

Will it be okay to cover this sensor, as i dont want my lights on 24/7...

What have you guys done (the few of you that have the chav strips)..

Cheers all

Anthing but a sun strip though ! They look awful !

If you do cover the sensor your lights will be on all the time. You'd have to make them come on manually.

i dont know where the sensor sits or what it looks like, but couldnt you just cut a hole out of the sunstrip the size of the sensor so that the light is still able to reach it ? just a thought, like i said i dont know where it is nor what it looks like ;)

You can almost guarantee though if you cut a hole out of the sun strip, that's exactly where the sun would be shining, and it'd be pointless then anyway lol!

so where is this sensor situated and what size is it? thats exactly where the sun will be shining???? yeah because the sun remains in one place throughout the entire day lol!! and how would it be pointless if the sensor still works and you block out the sun, even if you only block out 60%-70%, thats still more than nothing aint it. Dont be pesimistic unless youre willing to back up your views with some reasoning ... otherwise it's just called "bitching" ;)

E Don Vito,

In the center... IF you have it!

60 - 70% blinding will make the sensor think it's raindroplet covered so the wipers will be activated AND the Xenon goes on.

Don't make me b**ch-SLAP you!

Merry X-Mas!

Black cars can get away with a small one sometimes. Any other colour doesnt really go IMHO
