Supercharging 182

Novidem charger kit

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/olin/IMAGES/novidem.jpg

I emailed Novidem in Switzerland about there supercharger kit for the f4r and got this response.
"Hello Mark

Thank you for your interest in our supercharger–systems.

Unfortunately we will not offer a supercharger-kit for the Renault Clio sport 2.0, he was in the comparison to new vehicle price too expensively (over 8`500 Euros without homologation and the change on brakes, suspension...).

Best regards

Novidem AG

So as far as I know there is no supercharger kit available. Anyone else know of any?

It came recently to my ears that they did only a few car. And they all blew out. It looks like they were just putting the compressor without changing the pistons...
I think it is anyway possible to get a kit from them a do the modification properly...

I looked at supercharging mine at one point but seeing as it was going to be totally custom i decided against it but if there was a kit available its definitely something i'd consider

So would they sell the charger hardware (charger, belts and connecting kit)?

That was what I was asking them about as I already have a standalone ECU. From there response they seem to be saying they arent available?

  ITB'd GDI Original?
Tight fit, yummy. I still can't understand why a kit hasn't been developed tested and made available for sale yet?

Primarily the issue with cost.
Charging a std engine is tricky and doesnt lead to any spectacular results, especially using a centrifugal charger with high charge temps.

If charging is to be worthwhile then lower compression is needed, but you dont have to use expensive forged pistons or thick gaskets or decompression plates for that.

Then there is space and taking drive, an airconed clio is ZERO space and too many aux system brackets.

Are Novidem useing a centrifugal charger?

was a rumour of mark fish working on one, fact or fiction who knows..

Mark Fish has a prototype for the MK1 172 - he's about 2 months away from having all 172 / 182 models with a full copyright design. The price against a turbo is "much cheaper" - even with forged pistons fitted!!

Entry level is half the price of a turbo and starting from a safety range 240 ish BHP (remember that a turbo has lag and is moving when it comes into the power range and a super charger is straight into power). Remember 240 is a safety range and you can get higher pressures if you require (much more BHP).

If you want to pay out the price of a turbo - I'm sure Mark can fit you a charger, LSD etc etc for the same amount - You'll then have as close as you can get to a track car .... but on the road.

Remember - you don't need to remove the air con for the charger....Think about it. (172 Cups don't have AirCon............) I can not say anymore - speak to Mark and tell him Dave Lewis sent you round -and no I don't get commission.

hmmm interesting.

240bhp for 3.5k (based on a turbo costing 7k) out of an F4r that is very very cheap!

  EK9 + Mfactory gearing..
L1 1KE E...any info yet? looks like plenty of choice soon eh Mark..gdi tb's or fishy sc?

I was at gdi yesterday.

Ben likes to talk about superchargers ;)

Also a new AWT exhaust and inlet manifold which sound like they will be worth having. Quite expensive but quality of the product and expected gains will make them well worth a look.
