Tail gating saves money????

firstly its dangerous yeh i know...

but the other night i put £15 in, i did 85 miles the next day b4 returning to the petrol station to put another £15 in. the nest day i got 115 miles b4 the light came on.

the only difference was that when i did 115 miles i was stuck on fast moving traffic at say 70 mph.

on the day when i did 85 mile i wasnt.

can drag really account for so much extra fuel usage??????

What were you tailgating? If a biggish van then I could understand it but if it was a clio sized car I doubt it.

same jounrney to work and back, but last night i went up to xcape, hence the extra miles.

The grade/quality of the fuel can have a big impact as can ambient temperature along with the temeprature of the car.

It can have an effect although keeping your speed down and constant does way way more
