Nothing exciting to update apart from a few more parts arriving, currently away with work so hopefully crack on a lot once I'm back.

First to arrive was Cooksport springs + Lemforder lower ball joints.

Then a little order from @Renault Wolverhampton. Track rods + ends, Cup shocks front + rear, water pump, fly wheel bolts, crank seal, shock bolts, VVT seal, cam seal kit and a couple others.

Next through the door was some Powerflex bushes. Wishbones, ARB and Steering rack.

Managed to seal the rocker cover back on, snapped 3 bolts on the oil seperator :rage:

I got them because you can't buy them from Renault on their own and Lemforder make a lot of OEM parts.

Cheers guys!

Not had much time on it recently due to work but managed to get some done yesterday.

Got the Subframe built back up with all the polybushes and new ball joints:

Made a start on the timing now the tdc pin arrived. Everything torqued up and dephaser replaced. Just need to fit the belt and re check.

Really weird seeing the subframe off the car like that! Awesome work though.

Out of interest what size are the outer ARB polybushes please? There are like 4 variants on ebay?

Cheers pal, i think the inner bushes were 25mm and the outers were 22mm. Ktec do them and the wishbones for a good price.

Small 'Yellow' update

Finished doing the belts on the engine, got there in the end thanks to help from @Stu. @Paprika123 and @MicKPM on Facebook. Fitted the new water pump as well, and put the lower manifold back on. Starting to take shape!

Next task was to set about the steering rack, wanted to tidy it up before the subframe went back on. Removed all the pipework, going to see if i can get some blanks made up for the holes tomorrow and try get a small pipe flared to link the middle 2 up.

So went from this:

To this:

Much better and less clutter in the engine bay :smilingimp:. I then fitted the Powerflex rack bushes and got it on the subframe ready for fitting.

Cleaned the heat shield up and gave it a lick of paint, pointless as no one will see it but good to know its done 😂.

Clutch should be here this week so hopefully have the engine and box back in some point soon.

Also got my brakes stripped and refurbed by @Michaelfoz, still to order the seal kit but the job so far has been brilliant!

Productive day, got the crank seal, Flywheel and new clutch fitted and put the gearbox back on. All pretty straight forward which was good.

Then slinged it up and dropped it back in the car, still waiting on exhaust manifold gasket so still to be moved a little but couldn't resist seeing what it looked like! Some difference from page 1.

That looks awesome, excellent work. There me umming and ahhhhing over fitting my own braided hoses haha. (Never wielded a spanner at a car before lol but my track clio seems the best place to start I suppose)

Best thing is to just get stuck in mate! Ive got normal mechanical knowledge being an Engineer but never touched a car much before. I've just been learning as I go, the Internet is your friend
