THE INTERNET IS USELESS WITHOUT GOOGLE.

That's not blocked then.

We had this issue on a home user's machine. We too thought it was a virus, it was initially, but after several re-formats, an original operating system and a pirate operating system, etc etc etc it turned out it was the network (we do home user's machines on a different client network with no proxy). I set up a 3G card on it and it f**king worked perfectly.

Don't ask, because it worked fine on other machines, just this one.

Strangely enough only Google worked!!!

the website and download is blocked, thats why i thought the updates were blocked (updates never worked on any PC i have been on here)

Can will log in as mark (i assume it is) from wills computer and see if he gets the google issue? or have you tried something like this?

so if in theory you could travel to the other location and log in as yourself and be dealt the same permissions i dont see why you couldnt log in as mark and see if google has been block or something :P worst case scenario one of you will get kicked of the network so make sure your work is saved lol

oh i see.

i've logged into multiple PC's before, it makes no difference. the network is very crude setup. I dont think they can or bother blocking stuff for individuals, its all blanket blocking lol

I re-ticked the box and it worked.
No idea how/why, but that was the only thing I changed, and it now works.

ISD have just 'fixed' a colleges PC (having problems connecting to the net) and now the keyboard and mouse dont work, and the guy has gone. lol
