Timmy's Cup 182

  182 FF
Picked up my Clio 182 Cup on Tuesday and I have instantly fallen in love with it. Its my first RenaultSport and it took me awhile to find the perfect one but it was worth the wait! I must say its more fun than my Scooby WRX.:tongueout:

Its has a few modifications:

CookSport Springs
Yanoo stiff shift (yet to fit)
Speedline Turinis
Pure Motorsport exhaust with decat
Powerflex engine and dogbone mounts
K&N panel filter
Racing blue interior

The guy thinks it may be cammed but hasnt got proof but regardless its so much fun. The plan is to turn this into my second track car alongside my Imp VTR. I intend on putting a set of OMP/Recaro seats, 4 points, remap, throttle bodies and obviously a cage.

Hope you like!

If you go throttle bodies you will need an aftermarket ecu too.

The car looks great mate, but its not a cup, its a Clio 182FF (full fat) this means it has the cup pack suspension and the cup pack spoiler and splitter package.

Your car is better than a 182 cup, 182 cups have shitty cloth seats, no xenons and no aircon etc etc.

Ahhh i keep getting mixed up :) Thank you.
Already starting to gather issues.

1) Hesitant to start first thing
2) Spluttering and down in power but it goes after a few minutes
3) CD player/Cigarette Lighter doesnt work. I have checked the fuses and they arent blown.

Definitely check plugs for 1 and 2, helped mine a lot but they are always a bit sleepy on cold mornings as far as I know. And youve reminded me that I need a new multi meter to figure out why my cigarette lighter isn't working,
Looks like a good example though

I have had a busy few days getting the car to how I want it. On order is the following:

RSTuner with 98RON calibration
OZ F1 alloys for the road. Will use the Turini's for track days
Roll Cage
Evo 6 Recaros

I have also just had fitted the Yanoo stiff shift which has made a massive improvement and whilst it was being done I had a new gaiter and gear knob fitted as the one that tcame with the car was tatty. Pics to follow.

Cigarette lighter wasnt working when i got my Cup. Scraped the socket centre contact with a sharp screwdriver to get rid of corrosion and it has now worked for 2 years.

Yea it took a few trips to find the perfect one and i went all the way to Chippenham to pick it up but really pleased. Its got a few minor issues which will be sorted out but hopefully it will be ready for some track sessions by the end of the month.

Sprayed the badges tonight. Went for a dark metallic silver which was meant to match the dark anthracite wheels but came out too light!

Yes the exhaust is great. It's a decat system, not silly loud has a nice burble to it. You should get one for sure!

So I managed to get some used Evo 6 seats which are like new and a used roll cage so last night and today was spent ripping out the old interior and putting the new seats and lining the cage up. Really pleased with the seats they are amazing, so comfy and feel so secure in them. Tomorrow I need to bolt the cage in and put back the trim.

Finally finished the car ready for Abingdon next week so took some pics of the finished product! So jobs done:
Install rollcage
Fit Evo 6 Recaros with RRS 4 point harnesses
Swap the Turini's over for the F1's (only due to no thread on the RSR tyres :( )
Fastchip 98Ron remap
1kg fire extinguisher
Renaultsport F1 sticker (surely adds 10hp :D ) to cover the stone chip on the bonnet
Paint the diamonds gun mental grey (as i hate chrome)

Really happy with the outcome and looking forward to the track day :)

Thanks Sam but I prefer the Turinis, the F1 feel too heavy and the car doesnt appear to handle as well. Need to get some new track tyres for the Turinis

With the help of a friend. It was pretty easy and I was advised to remove all the rear trim but we actually didnt need to as it fitted straight past the speakers.

Got the car detailed over the weekend and I couldnt believe how well it looks! The Racing Blue is such a vibrant colour!

Managed to get the "Fatty" induction setup done this weekend. Great setup and well worth the pennies! also fitted some neochrome washers which make it look bit nicer :)

Next up is handling. Need to get an ARB and strut brace

  182 FF
So after a good run at the weekend at Santa Pod, the car has decided to stop playing happy families and recover truck was called this morning. It wont start and wont tick over just "clunks" then locks. Think its possibly the starter motor thats gone. It has also developed a gear crunch from 2-3, still has the intermitent hesitant start which is likely due to the crank sensor and one of the headlight xenon bulbs has failed. All in all its going to be an expensive trip to the garage!
