I've only got another year until I have to go annually.Yeah think I paid £60 with my doctor and thought I'd been robbed, that was 10 years ago mind.

This is about as good as it gets mate, as I don't have that many pics of it in that stage. So the car is going to a local race car specialist (literally 1 mile away from my house) he deals with chevron race cars and builds a lot from chassi up he also looks after 2 seats which race in 24h endurance series. He has offered to support me with fitting cage, seating position, wiring loom, fire extinguisher fitment and so on. Cant wait to get it started.
Got a few bits ready to sort out myself, a quick paint over on the inside with some hammerite paint...fit a roof scoop. Hopefully will be ready soon!
@NorthloopCup have you got any pictures of how your cage fits behind your dash?
Josh
Did they send you a cd with a load of pictures on for how it goes together mate?Car went into the garage today to start fitting bits and bobs!
Received the cage and it looks.....confusing!! Has some good advice from people who have this cage so will attempt to get some pictures along the way.
Josh
Yeah that's the one Custom Cages Clubman. Comes in a fair few bits and a DVD and images to fix it.Well done mate.
What cage did you go fit in the end? Is it a Custom Cages Clubman or something?
Russ
Silly question do I need that certificate to meet MSA standard for racing?Yeah if you want certification for the cage you need to send a test weld sample. Used to come with 3 scrap bits of tube to weld together and send off and they send you a certificate back. Bit of a joke really as I've seen some of CC's welding and it's not great
Russ
No don't need it.Silly question do I need that certificate to meet MSA standard for racing?
The less said the better...I made a fuss in when I came to pay and she referred me to a prices chart...I was not impressed. I was only there around 10 minutes tops!£100!!!
Have you sent off a sample yourself? As Russ says Josh, no need for MSA events.
No, the plaque is spot welded to the a post section so a scrutineer can tell what cage it is.Have you sent off a sample yourself?

I had a quick look over the chart she gave me and HGV was also on there it had a list of around 20 'Medicals' I didn't get chance to look at them allI think there's an HGV medical test that GPs try to mug you into, instead of actually looking into what is required.
Also chase them up when you send it Josh. They lost the original tube that my welder sent back to them! Had to use a replacement and re-send it.Yeah if you want certification for the cage you need to send a test weld sample. I've said before, it should be about £60, they try and charge for the ECG one, which is obviously dearer.I think there's an HGV medical test that GPs try to mug you into, instead of actually looking into what is required.
This season is more of a tester just to get the feel for it, fair bit to do yet to the car to get it where I want!Great news josh. Look forward to how you get on
Along way of you get Tony haha will see how it runs in production plusBring it on.
Just attempting to sort out some of the look then it should be sorted! Booked onto Cadwell anyway!Hurry up!
