Tweeter Positioning

Not sure if this is the same for all MK1 shape clios (older shape) but i drive a valver (1.8 clio16v) Phase 2 - above the airvents are some standard factory tweets. Im replacing these with after market ones.

Can any one advise me on the best positoning for um? you may say........ listen to them yourself and place them in the position they sound best in! however its going to be a bit of a mission to fit the tweets so i dont wunna keep messing about with um.

should they face each over so they kinda cross paths in the middle (70 degree angle) (left one faces me, right faces passenger) or face um straight ahead (ie pointing towards the tail gate)

?

someone told me its actually better to put them low (like in the footwells) and point them up! sound fine as they are to me, dont want them on show.

Rockport,

Most hifi gurus will say that any tweeter should be mounted within 6 inches of the main unit, what you have to bear in mind is the comprimise between the stealth look and optimum speaker positioning as most cars are not designed solely around audio set up!:)

i am a firm believer that the sound is much more complete when the tweeter is angled up towards the driver and positioned roughly 2" from the mids
